摘要： An improved cleaning composition is provided for shower and tub surfaces which is of the “shower rinsing” type, requiring no scrubbing, wiping, or immediate rinsing. The composition comprises: (a) a glycoside surfactant, the total amount of said surfactant being present in a cleaning effective amount; (b) a chelating agent, said chelating agent present in an amount effective to enhance bathroom soil removal in said composition; and (c) the remainder, water. A solvent such as isopropyl alcohol may also be added. The employment of a glycoside surfactant, especially one having an HLB value of greater than 13, remarkably improves the performance of such a shower rinsing composition both with respect to surface appearance streaking and filming and also bathroom soil and soap scum removing ability.

摘要： An apparatus for surface cleaning is provided in which a first liquid, which includes an oxidizing agent, and a second liquid, which includes a builder or a chelating agent, are initially maintained separately. The apparatus is constructed to facilitate delivery of these two liquids such that they are combined to form an admixture during delivery to a surface to be treated. Either or both of the first and second liquids include a pH-adjusting agent, which is present in an amount such that when the liquids are so delivered, the resulting admixture is maintained at a pH sufficient for cleaning efficacy and stability of the oxidizing agent. The present invention also provides a composition produced by a process of maintaining the two above-mentioned liquids separately and forming an admixture thereof during delivery to a surface to be treated.

摘要： Treated articles with improved water sheeting and soap scum repellency result from forming hydroscopic films on the surfaces of hydrophobic polymeric substrates treated with compositions, kits and methods that employ water-soluble or water-dispersible copolymers having: (i) a first monomer that is capable of forming a cationic charge on protonation; (ii) a second monomer that is acidic and that is capable of forming an anionic charge in the compositions; (iii) optionally, a third monomer having an uncharged hydrophilic group; and (iv) optionally, a fourth monomer that is hydrophobic. Treated articles exhibit a Water Sheeting Index of greater than 6. Treated articles may further exhibit improved soap scum repellency behavior compared to untreated articles.

摘要： A concentrated, dilutable cleaning composition is provided which comprises a microemulsion comprising an oil phase of which the "oil" is a nonionic surfactant, a predominant aqueous continuous phase, a polar organic solvent coupling agent, and a combination of surfactants different from the surfactant oil phase as the dispersing agent facilitating formation of said microemulsion, the cleaning composition dilutable with water for use as an all purpose cleaner and characterized by exhibiting the feature of blooming upon such dilution even in the absence of a lipophilic oil (or solvent). The blooming phenomenon is associated with the formation of a liquid crystal dispersion, which liquid crystal state is found to greatly enhance the cleaning effectiveness of the composition. In one aspect of the invention, one of the dispersing agent surfactants is a cationic surfactant which may be a quaternary ammonium compound capable of imparting an antimicrobial effect to the composition.

摘要： An aerosol cleaning composition for hard surfaces is provided with a surprisingly enhanced bathroom soil removal capability. The dispensable includes: (a) an anionic, nonionic, amphoteric surfactant, and mixtures thereof with optionally, a quaternary ammonium surfactant, the total amount of said surfactant being present in a cleaning effective amount; (b) at least one water-soluble or dispersible organic solvent having a vapor pressure of at least 0.001 mm Hg at 25.degree. C., said at least one organic solvent present in a solubilizing--or dispersion--effective amount; (c) a chelating agent selected from the group consisting of tri- or tetrapotassium ethylenediamine-tetraacetate (potassium EDTA), tri- or tetraammonium ethylenediamine-tetraacetate (ammonium EDTA) and mixtures thereof, said chelating agent present in an amount effective to enhance bathroom soil removal in said composition; (d) an effective amount of a propellant; and (e) the remainder, water. The preferred nonionic surfactant is an alkyl polyglycoside which provides a formulation stable to containment within a tin-plated steel can and which also facilitates processing of the composition.
