    摘要： A system and method are disclosed for reducing radio interference between wireless access points. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a network management system (NMS) (102) having a controller (103) that manages operations of a plurality of wireless access points (WAPs) (108) by way of a communication system (100) coupled thereto. The plurality of WAPs can conform to one among IEEE's 802.11 a, b, g and n protocols. The controller can be programmed to determine (302) a mode of operations for each of the plurality of WAPs, and selectively reconfigure (308) operations of at least one of the plurality of WAPs to reduce radio interference therebetween. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

An apparatus that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a system having a collection element that receives a plurality of service component definitions associated with a corresponding plurality of services of a communication system, a service bundle generation element that generates a plurality of service bundles from the plurality of service component definitions, a policy element that determines a network configuration for each of the plurality of service bundles, a loop rate determination element that determines a data rate for a communication loop coupled to the communication system, and a service offering element that presents one or more service bundles selected from the plurality of service bundles according to the data rate. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

The method may include transcoding of the multimedia content into a format suitable for the second MCDN terminal device.

The first firewall is configured to perform a firewall function on a first redundant input data packet and output the first input packet as a first redundant output data packet according to the firewall function. The second firewall is configured to perform the firewall function on a second redundant input data packet and output the second input packet as a second redundant output data packet according to the firewall function. The output packets are at least substantially similar when the firewall devices function properly. The controller is configured to receive the output packets from the firewalls, transmit at a given time one of the output packets, transmit the first output packet while the second firewall is failed, and transmit the second output packet while the first firewall is failed.

The system includes a proxy server that receives a request message from an external system requesting establishment of a communication path through the autonomous system. The request message includes a desired communication path profile including a desired level of redundancy. The system also includes a management server in the autonomous system that receives the request message from the proxy server, generates a response message indicating whether a communication path corresponding to the desired communication path profile is available, and sends the response message to the proxy server. The proxy server receives the response message and transmits the response message to the external system.
