This invention also relates to inhibiting the biosynthesis or action of such polynucleotides or polypeptides and to the use of such inhibitors in therapy.

摘要: A tensioning device that is inexpensive to manufacture and is useful for various rope tensioning applications. The rope locking device can be used anywhere along a length of rope that is being used to hold, tie down, or secure a load or item. The rope locking device includes: a body having a first end, a second end, and side ends; a first bore extending through the body; a second bore extending through the body, wherein the second bore is horizontally aligned and spaced apart from said first bore by a first space, wherein the first and second bore are located proximate to the first end of the body; a third bore extending through the body, wherein the third bore is located proximate to the second end of the body, and wherein the third bore is spaced from the first and second bores; a first slot vertically aligned with the first bore; a second slot vertically aligned with the second bore, wherein the second slot is spaced from the first slot by a second space; and a cam element pivotally mounted within the third bore.

摘要: A recombinant protein encompassing a C-terminal protion from the structural envelope glycoprotein and an N-terminal portion from non-structural protein one of dengue type 2 virus was expressed in Escherichia coli as a fusion protein with Staphylococcal protein A. The recombinant protein was found to provide protection against lethal challenge with dengue 2 in mice.

摘要: The vaccines are prepared by isolating the Brucella genes complementing mutations in the purEK genes of Escherichia coli, physically mapping, determining the DNA sequence, constructing a defined deletion mutation by polynucleotide chain reaction (PCR), introducing a selectable marker into the deletion, and then selecting a purE mutant in Brucella arising by allelic exchange. The resulting Brucella require purines for growth because they lack the purE gene product that is required for the carboxylation of 5'-phosphoribosyl-5-aminoimidazole.

摘要: Live Brucella vaccines and methods for preparing the live vaccines protective against brucellosis are described. The vaccines are prepared by introducing a deletion in the rfbU gene of a strain of Brucella which results in attenuation of the strain while retaining the desired immunogenicity to initiate a protective immunogenic response. Other strains with varying levels of attenuation are described.
