摘要： A display substrate includes a base substrate, a thin-film transistor (TFT), a pixel electrode, a pad part, and a cell-gap compensating part. The base substrate has a display region, a seal region surrounding the display region, and a peripheral region surrounding the seal region. The TFT is in the display region. The pixel electrode is connected to a drain electrode of the TFT and contacts the base substrate. The pad part is interposed between a first side of the base substrate and the seal region and is connected to the TFT through a first transmission line. The cell-gap compensating part is in the seal region and includes a compensating pattern adjacent to a second side of the base substrate and an insulating pattern on the compensating pattern.

摘要： In a method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device, when a photoresist film formed on a substrate for the liquid crystal display device is exposed and developed, protrusions are formed on the substrate for increasing a viewing angle of the liquid crystal display device. Although the substrate is formed with step differences thereon caused by various intermediate films, the protrusions may have a same size since an exposure amount to the photoresist film is varied according to the step differences of the substrate on which the protrusions are formed. Thus, the liquid crystal display device may have an improved display quality.

摘要： A display apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes first and second polarization plates, first and second phase delay films, and a liquid crystal display panel. A first polarization plate has a first polarization axis. A second polarization plate faces the first polarization plate and has a second polarization axis forming an angle about 85 degrees to 95 degrees with respect to the first polarization axis. A first phase delay film is disposed between the first and second polarization films and has a third polarization axis forming an angle about 40 degrees to 50 degrees with respect to the second polarization plate. A second phase delay film is disposed between the second polarization plate and the first phase delay film, and has a fourth polarization axis forming an angle about −5 degrees to 5 degree with respect to the third polarization axis.

The alignment layer has a plurality of alignment vectors in which the polymer chains are pretilted according to the sub-pixel areas. The alignment vectors corresponding to adjacent sub-pixel areas point in different directions from each other.
