    摘要: An apparatus and method for operating a paging control in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. The method includes receiving paging information used to determine a location of a paging listening interval in an idle mode, determining whether multiple pagings are applied, using a maximum paging number field contained in the paging information, determining locations of a plurality of paging listening intervals in a paging cycle using a paging spacing value and an initial paging offset contained in the paging information, and determining whether the terminal is paged in each of the paging listening intervals.

    摘要: An apparatus and operating method of a Relay Station (RS) and a Base Station (BS) controller for a multi-hop relay communication in a broadband wireless communication system is provided. The method of the RS includes, when receiving at least one traffic Media Access Control (MAC) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) from a Mobile Station (MS) accessing the RS, extracting a Layer-3(L3) packet from the at least one traffic MAC PDU, generating a relay MAC PDU including the L3 packet, and transmitting the MAC PDU to the BS through an RS Service Flow (SF) which supports Quality of Service (QoS) required by an MS SF carrying the L3 packet.

    摘要: Opportunistic packet scheduling apparatus and method in a multihop relay wireless access communication system are provided. The method includes aggregating channel condition information which are estimated and reported by Mobile Stations (MSs) and a Relay Station (RS) for each MS path in a cell, determining a Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) level which corresponds to the aggregated channel condition information for a corresponding hop of each MS path, determining a transmittable coded packet size and a number of subchannels required for the packet transmission depending on the determined MCS level, and calculating a current radio resource efficiency of the corresponding MS path using the determined coded packet size and the determined number of the subchannels.
