Abstract:
An optical image capturing device which is configured to carry out underwater photographing, and comprises a selecting section configured to select a plurality of photographing modes including an underwater photographing mode, an imaging member to obtain an object image, and an adjusting section to adjust white balance of an image obtained by the imaging member, is disclosed. The adjusting section adjusts the white balance to enhance a blue component when the underwater photographing mode is selected. Thus, as the white balance is adjusted by the adjusting section to enhance a blue component when the underwater photographing mode is selected, a bluish image apparently photographed in water can be obtained.

Abstract:
A bucket, for use on a swing-type rotor in a centrifugal separator, shaped to receive specimen holders of several different configurations. The bucket has a pair of diametrically opposite side walls having central portions displaced radially outwardly as first and second arcuate wall portions extending around a central axis of the bucket and another pair of diametrically opposite side walls having upper portions displaced radially outwardly as inverted U-shaped bearings for allowing the bucket to be suspended on the rotor. The other side walls are spaced from each other by a distance equal to or greater than the diameter of the arcuate wall portions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an LCD unit that has a reflective liquid-crystal panel including two glass plates with a liquid crystal locked in between, two polarization plates affixed to outer sides of the two glass plates, and a reflection plate arranged under the lower polarization plate. The LCD unit further comprises a light accumulating part that is arranged under the liquid-crystal panel in order to illuminate the liquid-crystal panel and that accumulates light and glows, and a light guide for efficiently introducing light entering externally to the light accumulating part.
Abstract:
A printing head provided in a wire-dot printer includes a plurality of first wire pins arranged in accordance with a predetermined rule, ends of the first wire pins facing a printing plane, a first driving mechanism for reciprocating the first wire pins in directions approximately perpendicular to the printing plane, a plurality of second wire pins longer than the first wire pins, ends of the second wire pins facing the printing plane, and a second driving mechanism for reciprocating the second wire pins in the same directions as the first wire pins, wherein the first and second driving mechanisms are arranged along a direction approximately perpendicular to the printing plane under a condition in which the first driving mechanism is positioned nearer the printing plane than the second driving mechanism.
Abstract:
A lens barrel drive unit for a camera, in which the present invention is implemented, comprises a lens barrel that is a moving object having a female screw, a drive screw that includes a male screw which engages with the female screw and that moves the lens barrel back and forth with the rotation of the male screw, a drive source for rotating the drive screw, a signal generator for generating a pulse signal according to the rotation of the drive source or drive screw, a first memory that stores a difference between a theoretical lead and an actual lead of the drive screw as a correction coefficient, a second memory that stores the theoretical number of pulses associated with a quantity of rotation of the drive screw which is required to drive the lens barrel to a given position corresponding to a subject distance, and a computing unit that uses the correction coefficient and the theoretical number of pulses to compute the actual number of pulses required for extending the lens barrel.
Abstract:
In a centrifugal separator which has in the top panel of its case an opening communicating with a rotor chamber and a control panel disposed behind the opening, a lid for covering the opening has a cutaway made in its lower portion for receiving the control panel and the pivot of the lid is extended laterally to the rear of the control panel. The lid is spring biased toward its open position and is opened by depression of a foot pedal that is connected to a lid lock mechanism. The control panel includes an indicator of rotor rotational frequency and rotor chamber temperature, the indicator being supplied with electrical signals produced by sensors within the case of the centrifugal separator.
Abstract:
A centrifugal separator capable of selectively mounting sedimentation tubes or capillary tubes on a rotor includes a container receptacle mounted in an outer box of the separator for receiving sedimentation tube containers. When the sedimentation tube containers are received in the container receptacle, their presence is detected to enable the rotor to rotate at a relatively high speed required when the capillary tubes mounted on the rotor.
Abstract:
A method of moulding foamed synthetic resin pellets of polyolefine in a mould, wherein the synthetic resin pellets are prepared with volumne of closed cells being more than 65 % of the total volume of the total cells and having an inorganic gas in the cells at a pressure higher than 1.18 atmospheres, then filled in a mould which is not completely gas tight, and then heated to expand and tightly adhere to each other. The pressure in the mould can be lower than ordinary pressure or at a vacuum and the pressure of the resin can be at a pressure higher than ordinary pressure. The moulded product may be removed from the mould after cooling or during cooling when the inner temperature of the product is between its melting point and a temperature 50.degree.C below the melting point. The obtained product may be stored at a temperature of 30.degree. to 70.degree.C below the melting point.
Abstract:
A centrifugal separator includes a rotor. In the rotor, contact portions each for coming into contact with an outer surface of the cap of a sample tube are formed in open end sides of storing holes. The contact portions respectively have notches at portions thereof which face an axis. An adapter for a centrifugal separator is also disclosed.
