摘要: An artificial blood vessel comprises a woven, braided or knitted fabric structure. Fibers so extend from a surface of the fabric structure as to be randomly intertwined with the fabric structure. The intertwining of the fibers with the fabric structure can be achieved by applying a high fluid pressure against a surface of the fabric structure.

摘要: A fibrous article having a suede-like surface is composed of numerous staple fiber bundle units mutually entangled with one another in a three-dimensional configuration. Each staple fiber bundle unit comprises a plurality of flexible and relatively movable synthetic organic ultrafine fibers having a substantially round cross-sectional profile, substantially the same fiber length, and lying axially along the longitudinal axis of the staple fiber bundle unit. Elastic bonding material is disposed around and spaced axially along the ultrafine fiber bundle units joining together adjacent ones of the ultrafine fiber bundle units at locations where they intersect with one another to jointly hold the entangled ultrafine fiber bundle units in their three-dimensional configuration while permitting slight relative longitudinal movement between the individual ultrafine fibers within each ultrafine fiber bundle unit. The ultrafine fibers located on at least one surface of the fibrous article have raised ends which are spaced-apart from each other and provide the fibrous article with good handling, touch, softness and excellent durability approaching that of natural leather.

摘要: A napped sheet has a pattern thereon formed by the sharp contrast between an area with a nap surface and an area with a reversed nap surface on which nap ends are reversed and extend into the inner part of the sheet.A process for producing the sheet includes the step of first raising a fiber sheet and next impinging a high-pressure columnar fluid jet stream on part of the fiber sheet. The product of the invention is soft, strong and beautiful, and has good durability. The production process is simple and inexpensive.

摘要: The present invention relates to an artificial vascular graft having ultra fine fibers smaller than 0.5 denier in fineness as part of the inner wall. The artificial vascular graft of this invention is very flexible and produces very low blood leakage. The ease of performing anastomoses is greatly improved. Because of the ultra fine fiber there are many sites to which live cells adhere, the adaptability of the live cells to the fibers of the vascular graft increases, an excellent antithrombotic effect is exerted by the vascular graft, and the formation of the endothelial cells is satisfactory and is observed at a very early stage.

摘要: The present invention relates to a polyester product excellent in resilient elasticity, shape retainability and shape stability, and a process for producing the same. The invention provides a polyester product with high resilient elasticity, shape retainability, and shape stability, which is produced by heat-treating a product comprising polyester fibers or a film prepared by taking up a molten polyester at a take-up speed of 2000 m/min to 4000 m/min, in wet heat and/or dry heat at not lower than 120° C. with the product maintained in a loose or constrained condition without being drawn. The product is very suitable, for example, as a collar interlining cloth of a shirt, a base fabric of a shirt, or a fabric of a lady's dress, etc.

摘要: The present invention relates to a novel method and apparatus for producing nonwoven fabrics. Generally, in production of nonwoven fabrics, in order to obtain a nonwoven fabric with a wide width, it has been impossible to obtain a uniform nonwoven fabric unless a large number of spinnerets ejecting fibers are installed in the width direction of the nonwoven fabric. The present invention relates to a novel method and apparatus for producing nonwoven fabrics capable of easily increasing the width of the fabric even when only few spinnerets are used. The method for producing nonwoven fabrics according to the present invention is characterized in that a group of fibers entrained with a high-speed fluid is ejected from a nozzle rotating around the axis of a substantially stationary cylindrical support as its rotational axis on the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical support and is laminated thereon in the form of a web and furthermore, the web is resiliently pressed under a heating condition via a roller revolving on the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical support around the revolutional axis which is the same as the rotational axis of the rotating nozzle and then, the web is taken up from the cylindrical support while it is slipped. In addition, the apparatus according to the present invention relates to an apparatus practicing the method.

摘要: In a methd for producing a soft sheet material containing thinned fibers or filaments and a viscoelastic substance, the improvement comprising:(A) applying a mixture of a viscoelastic substance and a temporary filler to a sheet material containing thinnable fibers or filaments;(B) thinning the thinnable fibers or filaments forming said sheet material;(B') applying temporary filler to said sheet material or relocating said temporary filler applied previously at step (A) within said sheet material, whenever necessary;(C) applying a viscoelastic substance;(D) removing said temporary filler; and(E) napping the sheet, whenever necessary. In accordance with the present invention, it is possible to obtain a leather-like sheet material which, though soft, has good mechanical properties such as high abrasion resistance and high tear strength. A leather-like sheet material is produced which is free from deficiencies such as low abrasion resistance and tear strength even where the thickness is further reduced.
