摘要: Methods and devices for connecting an accessory device to a connector port of a mobile communication device and automatically detecting an operational mode of the connector port are provided. The method includes implementing a USB Type-C device detection at an electronic processor of the mobile communication device and monitoring a first and second pin of the connector port for pull-up and pull-down signals from a connected accessory. The method also includes interrupting the USB Type-C device detection when a pull-down signal is detected and determining whether an accessory signal is detected at a third pin of the connector port. The method also includes implementing a LMR accessory detection when the accessory signal is detected and completing the USB Type-C device detection when the accessory signal is not detected.

摘要: Techniques for secure pairing for devices with Near Field Communications (NFC) tags equipped with authentication are provided. In one aspect a device with a passive near field communication tag including a private key for authentication is provided. The device may send a challenge request to a host device including an active NFC tag via a wireless communication protocol. The challenge request may be combined with a shared secret value known to the device and the host device to create a challenge request seed. The challenge request seed may be combined with the private key to compute a verified challenge request response. A challenge request response may be received from the host device via the wireless communication protocol. The challenge request response and verified challenge request response may be compared to authenticate the host device to the device.

摘要: Systems and methods for beamforming audio signals received from a microphone array. One example embodiment provides an electronic device. The electronic device includes a microphone array and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the microphone array. The electronic processor is configured to estimate an ambient noise level. The electronic processor is configured to compare the ambient noise level to a first threshold and a second threshold, the second threshold being lower than the first threshold. The electronic processor is configured to determine a beam pattern for the microphone array based on the comparison of the ambient noise level to the first threshold and the second threshold. The electronic processor is configured to apply the beam pattern to an audio signal received by the microphone array.

An example method includes switching, with an audio switch, the audio signal path between an audio power amplifier and an analog-to-digital converter. The method includes routing an audio signal received from the transducer to the analog-to-digital converter when the audio power amplifier is not enabled. The method includes, upon receiving a button signal, processing, with an electronic processor, a digital version of the audio signal received from the analog-to-digital converter to generate a sample. The method includes comparing the sample to a reference audio sample. The method includes generating an alert when the sample does not match the reference audio sample.

摘要: An accessory interface (100) for an electronic accessory is provided. The accessory interface includes a microprocessor (102) that provides selectable data functionality. A configuration memory (106) is coupled to a connector (104) of the accessory interface via a unidirectional configuration interface (108). The unidirectional configuration interface indicates the selectable data functionality to a portable radio. The portable radio presents data connectivity signals to first and second GPIO pins of the connector which represent either valid or invalid data configuration states. The configuration state is presented to a single ended one (SE1) input port of the microprocessor. The microprocessor selects a data connectivity mode of operation in response to valid and invalid configurations being presented to the SE1 port. An accessory incorporating the accessory interface is able to interchangeably connect to different radios supporting different data connectivity modes of operation.

摘要: A portable battery operated communication device provides a device interface formed of a plurality of exposed device contacts including a live voltage contact and a GND contact. Electronic circuitry associated with the interface is configured to operate in a non-linear mode using a low leakage path in response to electrolytic contamination across the two contacts. The interface is further configured to operate in a linear mode using a low current path during accessory attachment. Accessory detection is provided by a non-linear impedance device and sensor.

摘要: A method and apparatus for mission critical standby of a portable communication device are disclosed. A portable communication device may include a primary processor for a first operating platform, a secondary processor for a second operating platform and communicatively coupled to the primary processor, and a power state manager that may have a first mode and a second mode. The power state manager may be configured to determine whether the primary processor is in a powered off state and sequence supply of power to the secondary processor. The first mode may allow the primary processor to monitor a power state of the secondary processor based on a determination that the primary processor is not in the powered off state and the second mode may enable the power state manager to monitor the power state based on a determination that the primary processor is in the powered off state.

摘要: A method and apparatus for operation of a remote speaker microphone over an expanded temperature range. By monitoring a temperature of the communication device, a temperature sensitive microprocessor can be disabled above a predetermined extreme temperature, thereby allowing control of an audio path of the communication device to be modified. Microphone and speaker signals of the communication device can be switched or rerouted to an electronic path capable of operating above the predetermined extreme temperature for expanded operation while previous microprocessor controlled digital and analog audio circuits are shut down.
