    Abstract: A radio network sub-tiles reference signals (RSs) within a set of resource elements (REs) such that each sub-tiled RS occupies less than a time and/or frequency and/or power extent of its respective RE. The set of REs are dispersed across both frequency bins and time slots according to a pre-defined grid; and transmitted. The user equipment (UE) uses that pre-defined grid to locate within that transmission the set of dispersed REs. The UE accumulates and combines at least one subset of the sub-tiled RSs and estimates therefrom a quality; then reports uplink an indication of that estimated quality. Examples of the RSs include channel state information RSs, beam RSs and beam refinement RSs. Advantages are particularly relevant for 5G new radio systems.

    Abstract: A first UE sending via a sidelink messages to second UE(s) indicating the first UE is changing to a different network access node and therefore might be changing a synchronization source, which the second UE(s) use to maintain a sidelink communication between the first and second UEs. The first UE performs a handover process from a first network access node in the first wireless network to the different network access node in the second wireless network. The second wireless network uses the second synchronization source. The first UE attempts to synchronize the second UE(s) to the second synchronization source.     Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for remote user equipment direct to indirect path switching in sidelink relay are provided. For example, a method can include receiving, at a user equipment from a network element, a system information block message having an information element to configure monitoring of paging messages at a common paging occasion, which can be configured for user equipment that are in idle or inactive state and that are configured to act as a user-equipment-to-network relay user equipment. The method may also include monitoring a page at the common paging occasion based on the information element. The method may further include sending a random access preamble dedicated to the user equipment in response to the page. The method may additionally include performing a state transition to connected mode only after a response to the random access preamble is received.
