摘要: An intelligent transportation system (ITS) for a vehicle is described. The ITS includes: a packet count estimator arranged to receive broadcast ITS transmissions from a plurality of neighbouring vehicles and provide an indication of a number of packets received from the plurality of neighbouring vehicles, where the indication includes at least an information length and a data rate of the received packets; a fair resource allocator circuit operably coupled to the packet count estimator and configured to adjust at least one ITS broadcast transmission parameter of the ITS based on the indication of the number of received packets; and a transmitter operably coupled to the fair resource allocator circuit and configured to broadcast at least one ITS message using the adjusted at least one ITS broadcast transmission parameter.

摘要: An intelligent transportation system (ITS) station (400) for a vehicle (200) is described. The ITS station (400) includes a packet count and vehicle count estimator (342) arranged to receive broadcast ITS transmissions from a plurality of neighbouring vehicles and provide an indication of a number of the plurality of vehicles and a number of packets received from the plurality of neighbouring vehicles; and a fair resource allocator circuit (410) operably coupled to the packet count and vehicle count estimator (342) and configured to adjust a broadcast message rate and a modulation data rate of an ITS transmission in a cooperative manner based on application reliability requirements, the number of the plurality of vehicles and the indication of the number of received packets; and a transmitter operably coupled to the fair resource allocator circuit (410) and configured to broadcast at least one ITS message using the adjusted broadcast message rate and adjusted modulation data rate. In this manner, an ITS station is provided that may improve and support application reliability requirements, such as safety applications.

摘要: A method for communicating between a combo-endpoint device, wireless router, and a wireless communication device includes monitoring communication patterns of wireless data communications between a wireless router and radio-communication circuitry of a combo-endpoint device, and storing data indicative of communication times of the wireless router based on the monitored communication patterns. The method further includes configuring a frequency-hopping based protocol by defining connection periods according to time windows and selected frequencies for wireless communication of data between the wireless communication device and the radio-communication circuitry, and by establishing the time windows and time intervals for an advertisement event which do not substantially conflict with the communication times of the wireless router.

摘要: In a vehicle-to-vehicle communication system, an intersection-located road side unit (RSU) having two omni-antennas applies spatial filtering to the antennas' RX signals to recover first and second overlapping basic safety messages (BSMs) concurrently transmitted by two intersection-approaching vehicles that have no direct line of sight (NLOS) between them. The RSU retransmits each BSM for receipt by the other vehicle using either an omnidirectional retransmission technique in which the two messages are sequentially transmitted using an omnidirectional beam-pattern, a directional retransmission technique in which the two messages are sequentially transmitted using directional beam-patterns, or an XOR retransmission technique in which the RSU applies an XOR operation to the two BSMs and transmits the resulting XOR message using an omnidirectional beam-pattern. A receiving vehicle can apply an XOR operation to the XOR message and a local copy of the first BSM message to recover the second BSM message.

The first vehicle is controlled in response to the first set of information and the selected one of the control algorithms.
