    摘要: An inter-vertebral disc prosthesis intended for percutaneous deployment comprises an expandable annular enclosure and an expandable nuclear enclosure. The expandable annular enclosure incorporates a reinforcing annular band along its periphery and is filled with in-situ curable rubber. The expandable nuclear enclosure is filled with a gas. The nuclear prosthesis further incorporates a novel, integrally molded sealing valve assembly and is stretchable and collapsible into a minimal profile for ease of insertion into a specially designed delivery cannula, and is inflation-assisted expandable into an inter-vertebral disc in which complete percutaneous nuclectomy has been performed.

    摘要: An external device for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease comprises a vacuum cylinder containing a dual sheath assembly having an outer tightening compartment and an inner vacuum compartment. A plurality of expandable chambers contained within the tightening compartment are inwardly radially expandable towards the user's erect penis within the vacuum compartment by selectively supplying fluid to the tightening compartment and to the expandable chambers under variable pressure. For example, this specification describes devices, systems, and methods for inducing an erection of a user's flaccid penis in a vacuum compartment of the invention and applying longitudinal and lateral traction forces by the dual sheath assembly and the expandable chambers therein to the erect penis to execute a treatment protocol specific to a patient suffering from erectile dysfunction and/or Peyronie's disease.

    摘要: A system for affecting, augmenting, or enhancing erection of the penis includes an elastomeric sleeve designed to comfortably and securely encircle the base of the penis. The sleeve is provided with a pair of inflatable chambers, a dorsal insert, and a ventral insert which are configured to apply focal pressure on the dorsal penile veins, while avoiding undue constriction of the corpora cavernosa or compression of the urethra, dorsal penile arteries, or nerves. The system includes fluid transfer apparatus having a reservoir for pressurized fluid, a pump, and valves for controlling the flow of fluid to the inflatable chambers. The system also includes an inflatable sealing apparatus which, when used in combination with a conventional vacuum erection tube, forms an airtight seal between the sleeve and the open end of the inflatable sealing member.

    摘要: An intervertebral implantation system for restoring disc height and vertebral alignment, while allowing dynamic mobility and stabilization of the vertebral segment, and minimally invasive methods of implanting the same. The implantation system includes an annular reinforcement implant, including an elastomeric balloon inserted into the hollow or interior of a tubular sleeve, and secured only at a first and second neck portions to a securement element coupled to an attachment fixture, forming an annular structure attached to the outer margin of the annulus fibrosus. When the prosthetic implant is in a contracted state the tubular sleeve is redundant and undulated, forming folds, gathered loosely around the circumference of the inner balloon. Upon pressurized inflation with in-situ curable polymer, the elastomeric balloon elongates and expands circumferentially, and the tubular sleeve stretches and unfolds, constraining further expansion and elongation of the elastomeric balloon. The attachment fixture is configured to provide secure attachment to the outer margin of the annulus fibrosus. A temporary, high pressure vertebral distraction balloon is utilized to aid in vertebral distraction during a surgical procedure to implant the annular reinforcement implant.
