    摘要: The present invention's optical cable is provided with optical fibers, a forming pipe for housing the optical fibers, a sheath provided around the forming pipe, and at least one pair of rip cords embedded in the sheath. The forming pipe is formed of a plurality of tapes so that it is dividable along its longitudinal direction. When dividing the optical cable, the rip cords are pulled to tear open the sheath, and the already split forming pipe is divided while staying adhered to the respective parts of the sheath. As a result, the division of the sheath and the forming pipe is carried out in one stroke, so that the optical fibers inside the forming pipe can be exposed easily and quickly.

    摘要: An optical cable formed by optical fibers, a forming pipe, a sheath, a pair of tension members, and a pair of rip cords. The forming pipe includes a plurality of tapes arranged to permit the forming pipe to be divided in the longitudinal direction and the rip cords are located near the seams of the forming pipe. A distance from the surface of the tension members to the inner surface of the sheath and to the outer surface of the sheath are both 0.3 mm or more. A distance from the center of the rip cords to the inner surface of the sheath is from 0.2-fold or greater to 1.2-fold or less than the radius of the tip cords. Furthermore, the distance from the surface of the rip cords to the seams of the forming pipes is 0.5 mm or less.

    摘要: An evaporative emission control system includes a valve arranged in a passage communicating between a fuel tank and a canister. The valve opens the passage when pressure within part of the evaporative emission control system upstream of the valve exceeds a predetermined value and, closes the passage when the pressure is below the predetermined value. It is determined that the evaporative emission control system is normal when a value of the pressure with the part of the system detected by a pressure sensor is lower than a predetermined reference value below atmospheric pressure.

    摘要: Inorganic salts are generated in the production process of metal salts, such as sulfonates, sulfates and phosphates. When such metal salts containing inorganic salts are added as an antistatic agent to a polymer for producing polyurethane fiber, the inorganic salts cause fiber breakage or pack choking in fiber extrusion process. In addition, such antistatic agents are highly hygroscopic and contain trace of water. When such an antistatic agent is added to the material for polymerizing polyurethane, the alcohol and water in the agent react with isocyanate to result in lowered degree of polymerization and generation of oligomer. Such polyurethane polymer is spun into fiber of low elongation and tenacity. The material for polyurethane elastic fibers of the present invention comprises a mixture of 5 to 95 weight percent of at least one of the above-mentioned antistatic agents and 95 to 5 weight percent of a isocyanate-free starting material for elastic fibers, and eliminates the above troubles.

    摘要: An evaporative fuel-processing system for an internal combustion engine, comprises an evaporative emission control system in which a first control valve is arranged across an evaporative fuel-guiding passage extending between a fuel tank and a canister, a second control valve across a purging passage extending between the canister and the intake system of the engine, and a third control valve at an air inlet port of the canister, respectively. An external diagnostic device is humanly operatable for diagnosing operating conditions of the engine and the vehicle. An ECU is responsive to an output from an external diagnostic device which diagnoses operating conditions of the engine, for determining whether there is an abnormality in the evaporative emission control system, based upon an output from the tank internal pressure sensor, which is obtained when the evaporative emission control system has been brought into the predetermined negatively pressurized state, when the engine is in a predetermined operating condition.

    摘要: A failure-detecting device detects failure of a tank internal pressure sensor for an internal combustion engine. The tank internal pressure sensor is provided in a fuel tank for detecting pressure within the fuel tank. The failure of the tank internal pressure sensor is detected by detecting an amount of variation in an output from the tank internal pressure sensor occurring within a predetermined time period elapses after the start of the engine and determining that the tank internal pressure sensor is abnormal when the amount of variation is below a predetermined value upon the lapse of the predetermined time period. A fail-safe device inhibits abnormality diagnosis of the evaporative emission control system when it is determined that the tank internal pressure sensor is abnormal. A fail-safe device performs a fail-safe action including at least opening a control valve arranged at an air inlet port of a canister for closing and opening the air inlet port, when it is determined that the tank internal pressure sensor is abnormal.
