The compound is particularly effective in combination with diffusible dye releasing (DRR) compounds having o-hydroxyarylsulfamoyl groups.

摘要： A direct positive silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is described comprising a support having coated thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide photographic emulsion layer, wherein at least one layer of the light-sensitive silver halide photographic emulsion layers and other hydrophilic colloid layers contains a compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 can each represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic group; R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, or an aromatic group; and X represents a divalent aromatic group.The direct positive silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing the above novel fogging agent compound has good preservability and provides excellent reversal photographic images in spite of changes (1) in the bromine ion concentration in a developing solution used for processing, (2) in the particle size of the internal latent image type silver halide grains, and (3) in the amount of the fogging agent employed.

摘要： A silver halide photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide photographic emulsion layer with the silver halide photographic material containing, as an ultraviolet light absorbing agent, at least one compound having the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, provided that the both of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 do not simultaneously represent hydrogen atoms, and further, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 can combine and form a cyclic amino group; R.sub.3 represents a carboxyl group, --COOR.sub.5, --COR.sub.5 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.5, and R.sub.4 represents a carboxyl group, --COOR.sub.6, or --COR.sub.6 wherein R.sub.5 and R.sub.6, which may be the same or different, each represents an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms and further, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 can combine together and form a 1,3-dioxocyclohexane nucleus, a barbituric acid nucleus, a 1,2-diaza-3,5-dioxocyclopentane nucleus, or a 2,4-diazo-1-alkoxy-3,5-dioxocyclohexene nucleus; n is an integer of 1 or 2 and when n is 2, at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.6 may represent an alkylene or arylene group whereby the compound is a dimer; and a method of preventing the effects of ultraviolet light on a silver halide photographic material comprising incorporating into the silver halide photographic material, as an ultraviolet light absorbing agent, at least one compound having the general formula (I) above.

摘要： A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material has improved sensitivity and granularity as well as an increased gradient. Further, the material can be processed by rapid processing methods. The material is comprised of a support having positioned thereon a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a compound represented by the general formula (I):A-B (I)wherein A is residue of a compound capable of undergoing a coupling reaction with an oxidized primary amine developer, the residue being derived by eliminating a hydrogen atom from an active position of the compound. B is a group capable of being released through a coupling reaction to exert a fogging effect.
