Abstract:
An apparatus comprising at least one processing circuitry, and at least one memory for storing instructions to be executed by the processing circuitry, wherein the at least one memory and the instructions are configured to, with the at least one processing circuitry, cause the apparatus at least: to determine whether a bearer to be set up and used for a communication connection of a communication element is a bearer eligible for selected traffic offloading to a local gateway of a cell group when the local gateway is available, and in case the determination is affirmative, to provide an indication in a signaling to a communication network control element of the communication element, the indication indicates that the bearer to be set up is a bearer eligible for selected traffic off-loading as soon as a local gateway is available.
Abstract:
There are provided measures for assisted distributed gateway selection. Such measures exemplarily comprise (as control plane network entity functionality in a mobile network scenario where an access of a terminal to a network is movable between at least two base stations and routable in parallel via at least one local gateway and a centralized gateway) detecting movement of said access of said terminal from a first base station to a second base station, determining that a first network route which is a current network route from said terminal via a first local gateway which is a current local gateway of said at least one local gateway provides less network performance than a second network route from said terminal via a second local gateway of said at least one local gateway based on a result of said detecting, and deciding said second local gateway as a target local gateway for said terminal based on a result of said determining.
Abstract:
A second internet protocol network is logically connected to a packet data network connection provided between a user equipment and a first internet protocol network over a radio access network, the second internet protocol network located on a data path from the first internet protocol network to the user equipment. The first internet protocol network represents the highest level internet protocol point of attachment to the packet data network connection. Router advertisements are sent from the second internet protocol network to the user equipment over the radio access network via the packet data network connection.
Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising monitoring if a second data path is established for a flow, wherein a first internet protocol address is configured for the flow via a first data path between an apparatus performing the method and a packet data network; assigning, if the second data path is established, a second internet protocol address different from the first internet protocol address for the flow via the second data path, wherein at least a part of the first data path belongs to a radio access technology; at least a part of the second data path belongs to the radio access technology; and the part of the first data path is different from the part of the second data path.
Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising configuring a first internet protocol address and a second internet protocol address different from the first internet protocol address for a connection between an apparatus performing the method and a packet data network; assigning the first internet protocol address to a first data path for the connection and to assign the second internet protocol address to a second data path for the connection, wherein at least a part of the first data path belongs to a radio access technology; at least a part of the second data path belongs to the radio access technology; and the part of the first data path is different from the part of the second data path.
Abstract:
According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention a network device may be provided which may comprise a receiving unit, a sending unit and an evaluating unit. It may be foreseen that the receiving unit may be adapted to receive a trigger signal for preparing a breakout of a plurality of packets, wherein the plurality of packets may comprise at least one packet from a first source and at least one packet from a second source and wherein the evaluating unit may be adapted to evaluate the trigger signal. Moreover, the evaluation unit may be adapted to evaluate packets from a first source and packets from a second source and the evaluation unit may be adapted to distinguish packets from the first source from packets from the second source.
Abstract:
Improving user experience during handover. Transmitting by a source base station to a target base station a handover request message including a range of QoS profiles, receiving by the source bases station from the target base station a handover request acknowledge message indicating the radio resources or QoS profile selected from the range of QoS profiles, transmitting by the source base station station an identified resource gap between the selected QoS profile of the target base station and the currently used QoS profile in the source base station to an experience management entity.
Abstract:
A primary connection to a user terminal configured to operate using dual connectivity is maintained. A first control interface is maintained to a first radio node maintaining a secondary connection to the user terminal configured to operate using dual connectivity, the first radio node providing a local gateway for the user terminal. A second control interface is maintained to a core network and a local gateway towards a core network is emulated by providing control plane functions of the local gateway provided by the first radio node towards the core network over the second control interface. Local gateway related control messages are relayed between the core network and the first radio node over the first control interface.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for handling user equipment (UE) context for dual connectivity in, for example, enhanced small cell networks are provided. One method includes associating small cell identifiers that are assigned by an anchor evolved node B (eNB) with a unique cell identifier related to the anchor eNB, and reporting user equipment (UE) history information in dual connectivity mode to a target evolved node B (eNB). The UE history information comprises at least the unique cell identifier of the anchor eNB.
