Abstract:
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to select a plurality of antenna elements of an antenna array, such as to match the angular spread of the antenna array to a deployment scenario, thereby increasing the effective beamforming gain. In the context of a method, a plurality of antenna elements of an active antenna array are selected by separately selecting first, second and third pluralities of antenna elements and obtaining measures of first, second and third signals based upon transmission or reception of signals by the first, second and third pluralities of antenna elements, respectively The method additionally includes processing the measures of the first, second and third signals and determining a sub-army of antenna elements of the active antenna array to be utilized based on the processing of the measures of the first, second and third signals.
Abstract:
There is provided improved interference control of uplink transmissions, when user equipment is communicating with at least two base stations in a communications network. A threshold is defined for a difference of the determined allowed transmission power to an allowed transmission power for the user equipment to a second base station of the at least two base stations. It is determined whether the determined allowed transmission power to the first base station meets the defined threshold. Transmission rate of relative power control commands from at least one of the base stations is changed, when the threshold is met.
Abstract:
It is provided a method, including identifying a weak cell serving a downlink of a first user device; detecting a strong cell different from the weak cell, wherein an uplink of the first user device has a lower uplink path loss towards the strong cell than towards the weak cell; preventing the weak cell from providing a first grant for the uplink, if the strong cell is detected.
