摘要： A conveying apparatus includes a lever swinging in contact with a recording medium conveyed along a conveying path in a conveying direction, a sensor detecting the swinging of the lever, a moving unit for moving the lever from a position where the lever is allowed to contact the recording medium in the conveying path to a position where the lever is retracted from the conveying path, a guide unit being movable between a first position and a second position, the guide unit guiding the recording medium conveyed in a direction opposite to the conveying direction to the conveying path when the guide unit is located in the second position and a transmitting unit for transmitting the movement of the guide unit to the moving unit through motion of at least one member to link the movement of the guide unit from the first position to the second position with the movement of the lever to the position where the lever is retracted from the conveying path, the movement of the lever being performed by the moving unit.

摘要： This invention relates to a printing apparatus and a conveyance control method capable of allowing even an arrangement having a plurality of conveyance rollers in a printing medium conveyance path to accurately control conveyance of a printing medium. According to this invention, a first encoder detects a conveyance amount by a first conveyance roller, provided in a conveyance path, for conveying a printing medium. A second encoder detects a conveyance amount by a second conveyance roller provided in the conveyance path in the conveyance direction of the printing medium at the downstream side of the first conveyance roller for conveying the printing medium. On the other hand, a signal output from the first or second encoder is selected on the basis of the position of the printing medium on the conveyance path. Conveyance of the printing medium is controlled on the basis of the selected output signal.

摘要： Disclosed is a recording apparatus that helps to achieve a reduction in size and cost. The recording apparatus has a U-turn sheet feeding mechanism for reversing and feeding a recording medium and a duplex transport mechanism for reversing the recording medium and performing printing on both sides thereof, in which the same transport path serves as a transport path for transporting the recording medium from a U-turn sheet feeding roller to a main transport roller for transporting the recording medium to a printing portion and as a transport path for reversal in duplex transport. Further, a transport roller provided in the transport path from the U-turn sheet feeding roller to the main transport roller for transporting the recording medium to the printing portion is the same as a transport roller for duplex transport. A single transport roller serves both as the U-turn transport roller and as the duplex transport roller.

摘要： It is an object of the present invention to provide an ink jet printing apparatus that can print high quality images under simple control. The present invention includes a conveying roller disposed upstream of a printing section to convey a print medium, a pinch roller that rotates in cooperation with the conveying roller and discharging rollers that convey the print medium downstream of the printing section. The pinch roller, before a trailing end of the print medium reaches a nip portion between the conveying roller and the pinch roller moves from a pressure contact position with respect to the conveying roller. A conveyance amount of the print medium varies between before and after separation of the pinch roller from the conveying roller.
