    Abstract: An endoscope including an image pickup module in a distal end section, wherein the image pickup module including an image pickup unit including an image pickup device, a light emitting element configured to emit an optical signal from a light emission surface, and a ferrule disposed in the image pickup unit, in which the light emission surface is inclined at a first angle of not less than 35 degrees nor more than 55 degrees to the distal end section central axis, a fiber distal end portion is inclined at a second angle of not less than 35 degrees nor more than 55 degrees to the distal end section central axis, and the optical fiber extends toward the distal end section central axis, and is arranged along a bending section central axis in a bending section.

    Abstract: An image pickup module includes: an optical waveguide plate that includes a first waveguide, a second waveguide, and a third waveguide optically coupled to the first waveguide and the second waveguide through a branch portion; an image pickup device; a first optical device and a second optical device both mounted on the optical waveguide plate; an optical fiber; a ferrule into which the optical fiber is inserted; and a plurality of conductive wires. The ferrule includes a notch on a front surface, and distal end portions of the conductive wires are held between the optical waveguide plate and a surface of the notch of the ferrule. The other components are disposed within a plane of projection of the image pickup device.

    Abstract: An ultrasound unit includes: ultrasound elements each including a plurality of ultrasound cells formed on a substrate including a semiconductor, the plurality of ultrasound cells each including an upper electrode having a ground potential and a lower electrode to which a drive signal is applied, the upper electrode and the lower electrode being arranged facing each other via a cavity and thereby forming a first capacitor; a package member in which the plurality of ultrasound elements are disposed, the package member having a ground potential; and an insulation member disposed between the package member and each of the ultrasound elements. A second capacitor is formed as a result of the insulation member serving as a gap, and a capacity of a third capacitor serially connected to the second capacitor is smaller than a capacity of the second capacitor.

    Abstract: An endoscope includes an insertion section in which a rigid distal end portion, a bending section for changing a direction of the rigid distal end portion, and a flexible portion are concatenated and an optical fiber that transmits an optical signal, the optical fiber being inserted through an inside of the insertion section. The rigid distal end portion is provided with an image pickup device, an optical element that converts an electric signal outputted by the image pickup device into the optical signal, a holding member including a through-hole, into which a distal end portion of the optical fiber is inserted, and a wiring board on which the optical element is mounted and to which the holding member is joined. The optical fiber is inserted through a center of the bending section.
