Abstract: A device for adaptable wavelength conversion and a device for energy conversion are described. The device for adaptable wavelength conversion comprises at least one layer comprising a wavelength converting material and arranged to receive and re-emit a light beam. the device is further arranged to manipulate the at least one layer to operate in a closed state, in which a surface of the at least one layer is substantially covered with the wavelength converting material and to operate in an open state, in which the surface of the at least one layer is substantially uncovered with the wavelength converting material. The device for adaptable wavelength conversion can be applied in combination with a solar cell or photovoltaic cell thereby enabling the solar cell to receive radiation having a suitable spectrum under varying lighting conditions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a light-emitting arrangement (20) comprising a light source (22) and a scattering member (24). The scattering member (24) is arranged in a three-dimensional shape in front of the light source (22) in a light output direction. Different regions of the scattering member have different optical characteristics to provide a desired total light output in respect of brightness level, scattering function and beam shape.

Abstract: A lighting device comprising a first light source issuing a first beam and a second light source issuing a second beam. Said first and said second light source are dimmable and together issue light with a total light flux. At a mutually equal light flux of the first and the second beam, the glare level of the second beam is lower than the glare level of the first beam. The lighting device further comprises at least one (programmed) controller which, during operation, moderates said dim levels such that in at least a range of the illumination level a ratio of the dim level of the second beam to the dim level of the first beam increases in a gradual manner with increasing total light flux.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for automatic grouping of light sources within an illumination system. The method is performed starting from a first light source of the illumination system emitting a first light signal and a first sound signal. The method includes steps of using an intensity of the first light signal as received by a second light source and an intensity of the first sound signal as received by the second light source to determine a value of a grouping function (410, 420), and assigning the first light source and the second light source to the same group of light sources when the determined value of the grouping function satisfies one or more pre-determined conditions (430, 440, 450). In this manner, a determination could be made whether or not the first and second light sources should be assigned to the same group in a manner that yields improved results over the prior art solutions.
