Abstract:
Integrated cross-platform perimeter access control system with a RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter configured with a RFID lock, a wireless communication conversion unit configured for operating under a first wireless communication platform and a second wireless communication platform, and a smartphone is disclosed. RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter is installed above sensor area of RFID lock to facilitate RFID lock to interrogate the RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter. RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter equipped with photo sensor unit can be turned on in a contactless manner using smartphone with camera light source. Methods adapted for short-range or long range space/room management automation, transportation vehicle rental management, and automated vehicle parking lot management are included. Low-power infrared proximity sensing circuit of infrared type having an infrared transmitter and receiver unit or of capacitive type having a metal plate can be added to the RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter so that the RFID reader can be actuated to perform RFID signal reading.

Short-range and long-range operating methods for hospitality accommodation automation and control using APP, webpage, smartphone, RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter, relay controller together with RFID door lock is disclosed, where unlocking RFID door lock requires just pressing a button, various power outlets, lighting levels, HVAC settings, and tv settings can be controlled by smartphone. A gateway device with internet connectivity allows remote unlock or lock of doorlock, sending notifications of door unlock events back to a cloud server, and remotely control electrical or electronic devices under short-range or long-range modes. Detection methods for determining whether any occupant remains inside the room is also included. Current sensor is used for assess electric power consumption rate. Automation enhancements are provided for the hospitality industry to improve overall stay experience of the room unit by offering online services and offline services that can be implemented and activated upon unlocking or locking of smartlock.

Customized RFID transponders include RFID Integrated chips, RFID sensor coils, and a SPNT switch. Extended I/O connector is configured to allow connection of customized RFID transponders by coupling to SPNT switches. Bluetooth module instructs which one of SPNT switches is to be opened or closed, which then connects one RFID sensor coil with one corresponding RFID Integrated chip, while other RFID sensor coils and remaining RFID Integrated chips are disconnected. Selection criteria of chosen RFID IC by Bluetooth module is in accordance with preconfigured allocated access right given to each user by an administrator and is programmed on flash memory, EEprom memory of Bluetooth module, in APP, or on cloud authentication server. A RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter which includes a customized RFID transponder with an on/off switch, a RFID sensor coil, and a Bluetooth module with an EEPROM memory is disclosed. The RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter can be attached to a RFID doorlock to operate in both RFID mode and Bluetooth modes without interference therebetween, so as to use by RFID tags or smartphones, respectively. The RFID reader equipped device can be a RFID smart doorlock; a door is configured with the RFID smart doorlock and the RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter is mounted thereon, and the door can be opened and closed using the APP by the authorized user in real-time with or without internet connection. The RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter functions as a bridge between the RFID reader equipped device and smartphone operating under Bluetooth smart. In addition, the RFID-to-Bluetooth selective adapter possesses several security upgrade options.
