    Abstract: There are provided a work-side position measurement device and a drive-side position measurement device for directly measuring positions of roll chocks in a rolling direction, and positions of upper and lower working rolls and upper and lower backup rolls in the rolling direction are adjusted to zero point or predetermined positions. Alternatively, a change caused in the strip wedge due to a minute crossing of the axes of working rolls and backup rolls is calculated, and the quantities of leveling of a work-side rolling reduction cylinder device and a drive-side rolling reduction cylinder device are adjusted to make the strip edge equal to or smaller than a predetermined value. Accordingly, the bilateral asymmetry (strip wedge) of the thickness distribution of a rolled material is easily adjusted even in the event that the positions of the roll chocks in the rolling direction are changed due to wear on various components.

    Abstract: A hot rolling mill 1 includes a control apparatus 20 that adjusts an angle formed between an upper-side pair of an upper backup roll 120A and an upper work roll 110A and a lower-side pair of a lower backup roll 120B and a lower work roll 110B in a state where the upper-side pair is kept parallel and in a state where the lower-side pair is kept parallel. The hot rolling mill 1 is configured such that the work rolls 110A and 110B satisfy the condition that DW/Lb is equal to or smaller than 0.30 where DW is a diameter of the work rolls 110A and 110B, and Lb is the maximum strip width of a rolled material, and the hot rolling mill 1 performs rolling in a state where a bending force is applied to the work rolls.

    Abstract: When a portion for measuring the plating adhesion amount reaches an upstream side position, plating adhesion amount estimation values are calculated by using a plating adhesion amount estimation expression at positions away from a position that faces the distance sensors, that is, the upstream side position, by strip-width direction distances, of the surfaces of the steel strip. When the portion for measuring the plating adhesion amount reaches a downstream side position, the strip-width direction distances of the plating adhesion amount meters are matched to the strip-width direction distances, and the plating adhesion amount actual measurement values are obtained. The plating adhesion amount estimation expression is corrected on the basis of the differences between the plating adhesion amount estimation values and the plating adhesion amount actual measurement values. Accordingly, the control accuracy of the plating adhesion amount is improved.
