    Abstract: A positive electrode for a secondary battery including a positive electrode current collector, and a positive electrode mixture layer containing a positive electrode active material and disposed on a surface of the positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode mixture layer contains a first positive electrode active material having a compressive strength of 400 MPa or more, and a second positive electrode active material having a compressive strength of 250 MPa or less. When the positive electrode mixture layer is divided into a first region and a second region having the same thickness, the first positive electrode active material is contained more in the first region than in the second region, and the second positive electrode active material is contained more in the second region than in the first region.

    Abstract: A positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode mixture layer, wherein the positive electrode mixture layer includes a positive electrode active material, a first binder, and a second binder; the positive electrode active material includes a composite oxide represented by the following formula (1): LiaNixCoyMe(1-x-y)O2 (1), where 0.97≤a≤1.2, 0.5≤x≤1, and 0≤y≤0.1; the element Me is at least one selected from the group consisting of Al, Mn, B, W, Sr, Mg, Mo, Nb, Ti, Si, and Zr; the first binder is a polymeric binder comprising at least a vinylidene fluoride unit; the second binder is a polymeric binder comprising at least a diene unit; and a ratio of the second binder to a total amount of the first binder and the second binder is 5 mass % or more and 35 mass % or less.
