Abstract: Disclosed is a positive electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery including: a positive electrode current collector sheet; and a positive electrode material mixture layer supported on the positive electrode current collector sheet. The positive electrode material mixture layer contains a positive electrode active material, a binder, and a conductive agent. Abstract: The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell according to the present invention comprises: an electrode body constituted by a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material comprising a lithium-containing transition metal oxide, a negative electrode including a negative electrode current collector onto which metallic lithium is deposited during charging, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The molar ratio of the total lithium content of the positive electrode and the negative electrode to the transition metal content of the positive electrode is 1.1 or less. During discharging, the positive electrode capacitance α(mAh) of the positive electrode and the volume X (mm3) of a hollow constituted by a space formed in the center of the electrode body 14 satisfy the relationship 0.5≤X/α≤4.0.

Abstract: This positive electrode for secondary batteries is provided with a positive electrode collector and a positive electrode mixture layer that is arranged on the positive electrode collector. The positive electrode mixture layer contains a positive electrode active material that contains a lithium-transition metal composite oxide and carbon fibers each having an outermost peripheral diameter of 20 nm or less; the lithium-transition metal composite oxide contains 80% by mole or more of Ni relative to the total number of moles of metal elements excluding Li; an alkaline earth metal element is present on the particle surfaces of the oxide; and the content of the carbon fibers relative to the total amount of the positive electrode active material is from 0.01% by mass to 1.0% by mass.

Abstract: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises the following: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material that includes a lithium-containing transition metal oxide, a negative electrode including a negative electrode current collector wherein lithium metal deposits on the negative electrode current collector during charging, a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. In addition, in the discharged state, a space layer is present between the negative electrode and the separator, and the positive electrode capacity per unit area, α (mAh/cm2), of the positive electrode and the average in thickness, X (μm), of the space layer 50 satisfy 0.05≤α/X≤0.2.

Abstract: A lithium secondary battery with a positive electrode active material including a composite oxide containing lithium and a transition metal. A molar ratio: MLi/MTM of a total lithium amount per unit area MLi in a positive electrode and a negative electrode to a transition metal amount per unit area MTM in the positive electrode is 1.1 or less. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector larger in area than the positive electrode mixture layer. In the wound electrode group in an unwound state, center lines dividing the positive electrode mixture layer and the negative electrode current collector along their winding direction into two halves are not on the same straight line.
