Abstract: An electronic mirror apparatus includes a display unit to display the image taken by an imaging unit mounted on a vehicle, a light control filter disposed at a side of the display unit nearer to a driver's seat, and a controller. The light control filter shifts between the light reflection state to reflect light and the light transmission state to transmit light in response to a state of voltage applied to the light control filter. The controller causes the display unit to display an image when the light control filter is in the light transmission state or in the period of transition from the light reflection state to the light transmission state. The controller performs control such that at least part of the image displayed on the display unit is brighter when the light control filter is in the period of transition than is in the light transmission state.

Abstract: The electronic mirror device includes a display and a controller. The display includes a body case, an image display unit, and a light control filter, and is mounted on an installation position of a rear-view mirror in an interior of a vehicle for displaying an image captured by a camera mounted to the vehicle. The body case has an opening, and the image display unit is mounted to the opening of the body case. The light control filter is disposed to face a display surface of the image display unit. The light control filter can switch between at least two modes including a light reflecting mode and a light transmitting mode based on supply of electricity. The controller controls the image display unit and the light control filter.

The camera apparatus includes a second receiver, a second transmitter, a second controller, and an imaging element. The first controller transmits a synchronization signal to the second controller via the first transmitter and the second receiver. The second controller transmits the image signal to the first controller via the second transmitter and the first receiver. The first controller transmits the image signal to the display device.

Abstract: An object sensor senses that an object has come near the vehicle by sensing that the object is within a predetermined range behind a vehicle. When the object sensor senses that the object has come near the vehicle by sensing that the object is within the predetermined range behind the vehicle, a compressor creates a compressed image obtained by compressing a part of a display target range in a rearward image. When the object having come near is sensed, the display target range is changed to a second display target range obtained by moving down a lower end of a first display target range; the first display target range is the display target range when the object is out of the predetermined range. The compressor compresses a part of the rearward image in a vertical direction; the rearward image is present within the second display target range.

Abstract: An electronic mirror device includes a display, a controller that controls the display, a switching portion, and a preliminary starter. The display includes a main case having an opening, a video display portion, and a semi-transparent mirror. The video display portion includes a display screen and displays camera images captured by a camera. The semi-transparent mirror is provided between the display screen of the video display portion and the opening of the main case and displays a mirror reflection. The switching portion causes the display to switch between displaying the camera images and the mirror reflection. The preliminary starter preliminarily starts up the controller and the display before the switching portion causes the display to display the camera images.

Then, the first controller expands the image such that the image is wider in a longitudinal direction when the image is displayed on either longitudinal side of the display device than when the image is displayed on the central part of the display device in the longitudinal direction.
