摘要: A device and method that may be used at nearly any place to set and adjust a control system such as a thermostat, controller or computer having numerous parameters and options that may be selected for desired operation of an air management system. One may remotely, via a personal digital assistant, configure, commission, select, set or adjust the parameters and options of a control system, which may include, but not be limited to, temperatures, humidity, sensors, volume of air movement, fan or air mover behavior, the percentage of added fresh air, modulated and non-modulated control of valves and dampers, stages of cooling and heating at various zones, control of heat pumps, heaters and air conditioners, modes of occupied, unoccupied or standby of respective spaces in a building, for day and night, at selected times, on certain days, for specific buildings at particular locations.

The diagnosis may include the testing of sensors, set points, the fan, cooling equipment, heating equipment and the wiring connecting the controls with the fan, and the cooling and heating equipment. Problems discovered may be reported, automatically recorded and the original operating parameters may be restored.

摘要: A controller for dynamic redefinition of a short stack initialization to provide a low cost generic controller. The controller may be built with a network variable interface which has its variables initially selected by the time of the completion of the build. Thus, if different network variables are desired, then the controller needs to be placed with the builder or special technician for implementing the changes. The present invention modifies that controller so as to provide a capability of changing the network variables without the need of the builder or anyone else to modify the network variables in the controller's interface. The network variables may now be changed by an operator or customer, even while that controller is in operation.

摘要: A first sensor provides a demand for heat signal to a condensing boiler or water heater for control of the variable firing rate. A second sensor controls a bypass valve to allow a portion of water leaving the primary heat exchanger to reenter the primary heat exchanger. The bypass valve is controlled to maintain the temperature of water entering the primary heat exchanger above a minimum. When the boiler is operating at a reduced firing rate based on the demand for heat and an increase in firing rate is needed to maintain the temperature of water entering the primary heat exchanger above the minimum, the variable firing rate is increased.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for more effectively managing humidity of an inside space using an air conditioner are provided. In one illustrative embodiment, the system determines whether the humidity level in an inside space is above a predetermined humidity threshold, and if so, changes a control parameter such as a minimum “on” time for the air conditioner. If the humidity level in the inside space is not above the predetermined humidity threshold, the control parameter is not changed, or changed less than when the humidity level is above the predetermined humidity threshold. Rather than changing (i.e. increasing) the minimum “on” time, it is contemplated that any control parameter that increases the “on” time of the air conditioner may be used including, for example, changing (i.e. decreasing) the maximum cycle rate allowed for the air conditioner.

摘要: A temperature control system for a building is disclosed utilizing a central demand limit controller. The system includes a number of control modules or thermostats that have both proportional error and integral error functions. The integral error is reset at intervals by an interstage differential to drop single stages of air conditioning. This reduces demand until the maximum allowed demand is met. The integral error function is a timed function and the stages return in a random manner to restore setpoint temperature.

摘要: A humidity controller for an air handling unit of a space, room or zone. The controller may be a dehumidification system integrated with a constant volume air handling unit. The system may have separate actuator control of a mixed air damper and other actuator control for both an outdoor air intake damper and an indoor air exhaust damper. Humidity and temperature sensors may be placed outdoors and indoors in the space having air to be dehumidified, temperature controlled and/or mixed with outdoor air. An economizer controller may be connected to the sensors and actuators for controlling various properties of the air in the space. The air may be dehumidified by slowing down the movement of air across the cooling coil of the air handling unit.

摘要: A humidity control system for a space receiving conditioned air from a duct has sensors which measure the current humidity in both the space and the duct. The system calculates a duct set point based on the difference between the current space humidity and the humidity set point for the space. The system then controls the humidity of the air passing through the duct so as to both minimize the difference between the space humidity and the humidity set point for the space and to prevent the air in the duct from reaching its dew point. A special algorithm is used to compensate for lag in the duct's humidity sensor.

The display utilizes fixed segments. menu navigation and configuration which may be facilitated with soft keys having indicative labels associated with them. The parameters may be accessed from categories by soft keys via two-level menu navigation. Certain parameter value and setpoint entries may be effected with up/down keys. Module configuration may be performed by a user. To provide such user capability, the module may be programmed and configured by an installer with a software configuration tool used in connection with the building automation system associated with the module.
