摘要: This invention relates to a process and apparatus for repairing a port of a vessel, the port having an inside surface which is damaged. The method and apparatus utilize a liner means for lining the inner surface of the port, a sealed chamber between the lining means and the inner surface of the vessel port, a means of using a gas, preferably an inert gas, to purge the sealed chamber, and a means of monitoring the gas which is purged from the chamber.

摘要: In an aqueous reaction medium, phenol is brominated with bromine under conditions forming an aqueous hydrobromic acid phase and an organic phase consisting essentially of molten 2,4,6-tribromophenol. The aqueous hydrobromic acid phase and the molten 2,4,6-tribromophenol are separated from each other, and optionally the molten 2,4,6-tribromophenol is washed with an aqueous decolorizing solution. An alkali metal base and water are mixed with the 2,4,6-tribromophenol to form an alkali metal salt of tribromophenol. Then, in a mixture consisting essentially of water and at least one liquid ketone, cyanuric chloride is reacted with at least a portion of the alkali metal 2,4,6-tribromophenolate of such that tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)-s-1,3,5-triazine is produced.

摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus and process for detecting gas permeability in a main rupture disc which is in gaseous communication with a vessel. The process comprises: fitting a chamber over and in gas-tight association with the outside surface of the main rupture disc; selecting a burst presure for the main rupture disc and a set pressure; obtaining a gaseous pressure within the chamber which is greater than the normal operating pressure within the vessel, and equal to the difference between the set pressure and the burst pressure of the main rupture disc; and monitoring the chamber pressure for a decrease thereof. The apparatus comprises, generally, a chamber, a means for obtaining a gaseous pressure within the chamber, and a means for monitoring a change in pressure in the chamber.

摘要: It is disclosed that aqueous systems containing the sodium salt of nitrilotriacetate monohydrate (NTA) can be converted into a dry particulate form of NTA of comparatively high bulk density and suitable hygroscopic properties when using a spray drying technique by delivering to the spray dryer an NTA-water mixture which contains a greater amount of NTA than that present in a saturated aqueous solution of NTA. Upon spray drying such a particulate mixture with hot gases in a counter-current or co-current flow under proper conditions, water is removed from the particulate mixture producing a particulate solid NTA product.
