    Abstract: A cover for a fiber optic cable connection includes a cap portion having a first housing portion having a first housing wall and a second housing portion having a second housing wall. A union portion has a union wall defining a union opening and is configured to receive the first housing portion and the second housing portion to couple the first housing portion and the second housing portion in a closed position. The first housing wall and the second housing wall define a housing opening to receive a sealing assembly that has an inner surface and an outer surface. A sealing opening is configured to receive a fiber optic cable associated with the fiber optic cable connection. The outer surface is configured to contact at least one of the first housing wall, the second housing wall, or the union wall when the sealing assembly is received within the housing opening.

    Abstract: Fiber-optic equipment is often deployed in various locations, and performance of fiber-optic transmissions may be monitored as a gauge of equipment status to prevent costly and inconvenient communication outages. Events that damage equipment that eventually result in outage and may be desirable to address proactively, but the occurrence of such events may be difficult to detect only through equipment performance. Presented herein are techniques for monitoring and maintaining fiber-optic equipment performance via enclosure sensors that measure physical properties within a fiber-optic equipment enclosure, such as temperature, pressure, light, motion, vibration, and moisture, which are often diagnostic and predictive of causes of eventual communication outages, such as temperature-induced cable loss (TICL), incomplete flash-testing during installation, exposure to hazardous environmental conditions, and tampering. An enclosure sensor package transmits the physical measurements to a monitoring station, and automatic determination of enclosure-related events may enable triaging and transmission of repair alerts to maintenance personnel.

    Abstract: A cable enclosure includes a housing defining an opening through which an interior of the housing is accessible. An end plate is releasably secured to the housing to cover the opening such that the interior of the housing is not accessible. The end plate includes a first conductive leg in electrical communication with a first cable within the housing.     Abstract: A clamp for suspending a wire includes a housing having an inner support surface. The wire is disposed between the inner support surface and a keeper. The clamp further includes a fastening unit, including a first fastener and a second fastener attachable to the first fastener. The housing defines an opening extending in a direction along which the wire is received within the housing. After the second fastener is attached to the first fastener, the fastening unit is not removable from the housing. The fastening unit is movable, within the opening, between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the fastening unit cooperates with the keeper to decrease a distance between the inner support surface and the keeper. In the second position, the fastening unit does not cooperate with the keeper to decrease the distance.
