Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications device, such as a roadside unit (RSU) or a user equipment (UE), may transmit a network coding packet on a sidelink to perform an efficient retransmission for multiple packets. In some systems, a base station may coordinate sidelink communications between devices, such as by granting resources for the devices to communicate on the sidelink. The device which transmits the network coding packet may request resources from the base station, and the base station may grant resources for the device to transmit the network coding packet. These techniques may be implemented to prevent the base station from granting resources to the original source UEs for retransmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A roadside unit (RSU) may transmit, to a first communication node, a request for multi-static sensing capability information associated with the first communication node. The RSU may receive a report indicating the multi-static sensing capability information for the first communication node. The RSU may transmit, in response to receiving the multi-static sensing capability information, a control message indicating one or more multi-static sensing parameters for the first communication node. The RSU may receive one or more multi-static sensing measurements obtained based at least in part on the one or more multi-static sensing parameters. The RSU may transmit, to the first communication node, a second communication node, or both, one or more channel estimates determined based at least in part on the one or more multi-static sensing measurements.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and multiple network coding devices may communicate to reduce multiple network coding devices accepting a same take over request message from the UE for a given data packet. In some examples, the multiple network coding devices may determine respective backoff periods to wait before accepting the take over request message such that each backoff period is different for each network coding device. In some examples, the UE may receive respective broadcast messages from each of the multiple network coding devices that indicate a network coding capability parameter, and the UE may select a network coding device based on the received capability parameter. In some examples, a network coding device may transmit an indication of packet overload and refrain from accepting a take over request message.

The UE may obtain a second indication, based at least in part on a second threshold, that the HARQ DTX caused by the LBT failure is a type of HARQ DTX that is to be counted for identifying a sidelink radio link failure (RLF). Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A vehicle user equipment (VUE) may transmit an iterative wake-up signal (WUS) to a first roadside unit (RSU). The iterative WUS may include location information associated with an expected path of the VUE and may instruct the first RSU to transmit one or more other WUSs to at least a second RSU that supports communication along a portion of the expected path of the VUE. In some cases, the first RSU may transmit an iterative WUS to the second RSU, the second RSU may transmit an iterative WUS to a third RSU, and so on until the final RSU along the expected path is woken up with a normative (e.g., non-iterative) WUS. An RSU may provide safety information to the VUE, and after the VUE leaves a service area associated with an RSU, the RSU may activate a low power mode.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A target user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a session key from an initiator UE in a sidelink communications system, from a network entity (e.g., a base station), or the like. In some cases, the target UE may also receive an indication of a nonce in a message of a PRS procedure. The target UE may select a positioning reference signal (PRS) sequence for the PRS procedure using the session key and optionally the nonce, such as by using a defined function at the target UE with the session key and the nonce as an input. Once the target UE selects the PRS sequence, the target UE may encode the PRS sequence and may transmit the PRS sequence to the initiator UE.

The techniques described herein relate to new radio (NR) sidelink and long-term evolution (LTE) sidelink co-channel coexistence for stand-alone NR user equipment. A user equipment (UE) identifies a resource pattern for a set of resources for sidelink communications, the set of resources including a first subset of resources associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) (e.g., LTE) and a second subset of resources associated with a second RAT (e.g., 5G NR). The UE performs a channel busy ratio (CBR) measurement for a resource of the set of resources. The UE adjusts the resource pattern for the set of resources based on the CBR measurement.
