    Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for optimizing performance of positioning measurements. In an aspect, a wireless mobile device receives a positioning measurements request indicating a plurality of cells of a cellular network to be measured by the wireless mobile device, and, for each cell of the plurality of cells having an entry in a memory of the wireless mobile device: based on an indicator indicating that previous positioning measurements for the cell are valid, retrieves the previous positioning measurements for the cell from the memory of the wireless mobile device and sends the previous positioning measurements for the cell to the location server, and, based on the indicator indicating that the previous positioning measurements for the cell are not valid, performs new positioning measurements for the cell and sends the new positioning measurements for the cell to the location server.

    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments pertain to PCI planning and selection. A base station may select a PCI value from available PCI values, where the selected PCI value may be associated with a PRS frequency that is different from PRS frequencies of neighboring base stations. For example, a base station may obtain neighbor Physical layer Cell Identity (PCI) values for neighboring cells of the base station, where each neighbor PCI value may correspond to a distinct neighbor cell of the base station. The base station may receive one or more available PCI values, and, determine, based on the available PCI values and the neighbor PCI values, whether the available PCI values comprise one or more available non-colliding PCI values. A non-colliding available PCI value may then be selected as the PCI value for the cell served by the base station when the available PCI values comprise one or more available non-colliding PCI values.

    Abstract: A user wearing headphones (e.g., to listen to music, to engage in a voice call, etc.) may speak while receiving an audio signal through the headphones, which may cause the user to produce Lombard speech. Because the Lombard effect is generally involuntary, the user may be unaware that he or she is producing Lombard speech. The Lombard speech may inconvenience proximate individuals and/or embarrass the user (e.g., in an office, in an airport, etc.). An apparatus may be configured to receive, through a microphone communicatively coupled to the apparatus, an audio signal. The apparatus may be configured to determine whether the audio signal indicates speech by a user. The apparatus may be further configured to alert the user based on the determination that the audio signal indicates Lombard speech by the user.
