    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for performing beamforming training in multi-antenna wireless devices. For example, an apparatus for wireless communication may include a first interface configured to obtain, from each of a plurality of radio frequency (RF) modules, a first information regarding detection of one or more pilot signals via at least one antenna element at a respective one of the plurality of RF modules. The apparatus may also include a processing system configured to process the first information obtained from the plurality of RF modules to generate second information to synchronize the plurality of RF modules, and a second interface configured to provide the second information to the plurality of RF modules.

    Abstract: Apparatus for generating a header of a transmit frame, and for processing the header of a received frame. The header generating includes encoding header data bits to generate parity bits, repeating the header bits M times, repeating the parity bits N times, encoding the M repetitions of the header bits, encoding the N repetitions of the parity bits, combining the encoded M repetitions of the header bits with the N repetitions of the parity bits, and modulating the combined sequence to generate the header of the frame. The header processing includes demodulating the header to generate a sequence of bits, splitting the sequence into separate header and parity sequences, decoding the header and parity sequences to generate M header and N parity sequences, combining the M header sequences, combining the N parity sequences, and decoding the combined header sequences using the combined parity sequences to generate header data bits.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to switching mode of operation between an apparatus and a wireless node. An apparatus for wireless communication may generate a first frame comprising one or more fields indicating at least one of a request to change a mode for communication between the apparatus and a wireless node, wherein the change in the mode includes switching to one of single-input single-output (SISO), single-user multi-input multi-output (SU-MIMO), or multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) operation, or one or more parameters related to the change and output the first frame for transmission. Correspondingly, an apparatus for wireless communication may obtain a first frame comprising one or more fields indicating a request to change a mode for communication between the apparatus and a wireless node or parameters related to the change and take one or more actions to communicate in accordance with the change in the mode or the parameters.
