Abstract: A system loading detecting device and method are provided. The system loading detecting device includes a processing device, a detection circuit and a controller. The detection circuit detects whether an adapter is unplugged from the system loading detecting device to generate a detection signal. When the adapter is unplugged from the system loading detecting device, the detection signal is changed from a first level to a second level. The controller is coupled to the detection circuit and the processing device. In addition, the controller receives the detection signal and determines whether to trigger the generation of a throttling signal according to the detection signal to enable a throttling mechanism to reduce system loading.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first processor, a power supplier, and a controller. A power supplier storing electricity provides power to the electronic device. The controller detects remaining electricity quantity of the power supplier and determines whether the current remaining electricity quantity is larger than an electricity-quantity threshold. When the controller determines that the current remaining electricity quantity is not larger than the electricity-quantity threshold, the controller activates a frequency control operation to control an operation frequency of the first processor.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a device controller and a microprocessor. The device controller is coupled to a device for controlling the device. The microprocessor is coupled to the device controller. The microprocessor obtains information regarding an amount of power consumption of the electronic device and dynamically determines an amount of current provided to the device according to the amount of power consumption. When the microprocessor determines that the amount of power consumption is greater than a threshold, the microprocessor determines to decrease the amount of current provided to the device.

Abstract: A power management method for a computer system is provided. The power management method includes: obtaining a system power consumption; determining whether the system power consumption is greater than a first safe operating point; when the system power consumption is greater than the first safe operating point, controlling a CPU and a graphics processing unit (GPU) to activate a frequency reduction mechanism according to a first adjustment sequence; when the system power consumption is not greater than the first safe operating point, determining whether the system power consumption is smaller than a second safe operating point; and when the system power consumption is smaller than the second safe operating point, controlling the CPU and the GPU to deactivate the frequency reduction mechanism according to a second adjustment sequence. The second adjustment sequence is reverse to the first adjustment sequence.

Abstract: A method for monitoring temperature of an electronic element is provided. The method is used in an embedded controller of a device and includes: determining whether the temperature reading is higher than or equal to a temperature threshold; increasing a time value of a timer with an accumulated time value when the temperature reading is higher than or equal to the temperature threshold; determining whether the time value is greater than or equal to a time threshold; and transmitting a notification signal to a basic input/output system (BIOS) to notify the BIOS to read the temperature reading when the time value is greater than or equal to the time threshold.

Abstract: A portable electronic apparatus and a power management method are disclosed. The portable electronic apparatus comprises a processor and an embedded controller (EC). The EC determines whether the processor starts a throttling mechanism according to a current power consumption, a proportional term, a last power consumption, a lower bound, a delta power and a derivative term. The EC determines whether the processor cancels the throttling mechanism according to the current power consumption, the lower bound, a count that the power consumption is lower than the lower bound, and an integral term.
