    摘要: This application discloses a valve construction having a modulating pilot diaphragm fluid control which cooperates with an adjustable pilot which remains stationary after adjustment to control the flow of the fluid. This valve construction may be used in a construction having a hot water inlet, a cold water inlet, a mixing chamber connected to said cold water inlet and said hot water inlet, a hot and mixed water outlet connected to said mixing chamber, and a variable flow control construction controlling the flow of cold water from said cold water inlet to said mixing chamber. This variable flow control construction may be a modulating control construction, so that the water flow from the cold water inlet may be modulated to the desired volume to produce the desired mixture of hot and cold water at the mixed water outlet. Other fluids, instead of hot and cold water, may be controlled and mixed by the valve construction. More than two fluids may enter more than two inlets in the valve construction. A flexible variable orifice means may be used adjacent one or more of the inlets. The valve construction may be unitary or homogeneous, such as a casting.

    摘要: An armature control system including coil means for controlling positioning of a movable armature. Electrical resistance means is provided which has transverse portions in heat exchange relationship with each other and flexible for movement toward and away from one another to adjust the heat exchange relationship, the electrical resistance of the portions being temperature responsive so current flow therethrough is responsive to the temperature thereof. Adjustment means is provided for moving the portions toward and away from one another to adjust the proximity thereof and alter mutual heat transfer therebetween so the electrical current passing through the resistance means is correspondingly adjusted. Circuit means connects the resistance means with the coil means so the adjustment means may be adjusted to adjust the spacing between the transverse portions to alter the heat exchange relationship therebetween and adjust the current flow through the coil means to thereby adjust the electromagnetic force on the armature to effect movement thereof.

    摘要: An electrical control system for controlling a function and comprising a flexible, variable resistor formed to provide a plurality of adjacent portions in heat exchange relationship with one another and adapted to move toward or away from one another, depending upon the direction of flexing of the resistor. The variable resistor is flexible axially to adjust the spacing between the adjacent portions to thereby vary the mutual heat transfer therebetween. This moves the electrical resistance of the flexible resistor to effect changes in the rate of current flow therethrough. A control means in circuit with the resistor is operative in response to said current changes to control the function.
