摘要:
This invention relates to the use of pore mouth control of microporous solids for developing novel molecular sieve adsorbents and their potential in the drying of alcohols. More specifically, the invention relates to the manufacture and use of a molecular sieve adsorbent, which selectively adsorbs water from azeotropic alcohol-water mixtures by pore mouth control of microporous solids with liquid phase metal alkoxide deposition on the external surface at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. The prepared adsorbent is therefore useful for the commercial drying of alcohols.

This invention relates to the use of pore mouth control of zeolite NaA for developing a novel molecular sieve adsorbents and their potential in the separation and purification of gaseous mixtures by the size/shape selective adsorption. More specifically, the invention relates to the manufacture and use of a molecular sieve adsorbent, which is selective towards oxygen from its gaseous mixture with nitrogen and argon by pore mouth control of zeolite NaA with liquid phase alkoxide deposition on the external surface at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. Thus prepared adsorbent is useful for the separation and purification of nitrogen and argon from its mixture with oxygen.

The invention relates to the manufacture of molecular sieve adsorbents, which are selective towards oxygen from its gaseous mixture with argon and/or nitrogen. More particularly, this invention relates to the manufacture of molecular sieve adsorbents useful for the separation of oxygen-argon gaseous mixture. More specifically, the invention relates to the manufacture and use of a molecular sieve adsorbent by cation exchange in zeolites by rare earth cations to obtain oxygen selective adsorbent from its gaseous mixture with nitrogen and argon at ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. Thus prepared adsorbent is useful for the separation and purification of nitrogen and argon from its mixture with oxygen.

This invention provides a catalytic epoxidation of styrene to styrene oxide with molecular oxygen using cobalt containing zeolite. Catalytic epoxidation of styrene-to-styrene epoxide was carried out using molecular oxygen in presence of Co2+ exchanged zeolites. Molecular oxygen from air is also useful for the epoxidation reaction at atmospheric pressure. The presence of adsorbed water molecules in the catalyst also increases the styrene conversion without affecting the styrene oxide selectivity. Various alkali and alkaline earth cationic promoters were introduced into the zeolite catalyst to increase the styrene oxide selectivity. The present invention explore the effect of adsorbed water molecules and alkali and alkaline earth metal cationic promoters in the cobalt exchanged zeolite catalyst, on the styrene conversion and styrene oxide selectivity for the catalytic epoxidation of styrene to styrene oxide with molecular oxygen.

The present invention provides a green catalytic process for the synthesis of acetyl salicylic acid using solid acid catalysts at atmospheric pressure. The invention involve the solid acid catalyst such as sulfated transition metal oxides namely nano-crystalline sulfated zirconia, sulfated titania; modified zeolites namely zeolite H-beta, H-Y, H-ZSM-5 and K-10 montmorillonite clay in a solvent free environment using salicylic acid and acetic anhydride with yield about 95% and high selectivity (100%). The solid acid catalysts can be recovered, regenerated and reused.

The present invention provides an organic-inorganic hybrid chiral sorbent for chiral resolution of various racemic compounds viz. racemic mandelic acid, 2-phenyl propionic acid, diethyl tartrate, 2,2′-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthalene (BINOL) and cyano chromene oxide with excellent chiral separation (enantiomeric excess, 99%) in case of mandelic acid under medium pressure column chromatography. These optically pure enantiomers find applications as intermediates in pharmaceutical industries.

In the present invention a process for the preparation of sodium silicate from Kimberlite tailing generated as solid waste during diamond mining is disclosed. The process comprises, reacting Kimberlite tailing with mineral acid to remove acid soluble impurities followed by digesting acid treated Kimberlite tailing with alkali solution in a open or closed system to obtain sodium silicate useful for commercial applications.
