    摘要: For motors having a journal with one or more groove regions and a shaft for relative rotation in the journal, aspects include providing a dual tapered shaft. The shaft may be tapered by the application of a wear resistant coating at least opposite the groove regions. The coating introduces a shaft taper from near a top end and from near a bottom end towards the shaft middle. The shaft taper may provide for improved pumping efficiency. The coating may be applied in various processes such as chemical vapor deposition or physical vapor deposition to establish a thickness gradient of coating material from near the top end and near the bottom end towards the shaft middle. In one example, the coating includes a DLC coating. Additionally, shaft portions may be shielded to prevent coatings thereon.

    摘要: A seal with a primary axis lying in the radial direction so that the fluid bearing is primarily extending in the axial direction between the rotating shaft and surrounding sleeve is disclosed. The capillary seal is positioned with an opening adjacent an end of the fluid bearing gap, and comprises two walls which diverge as they extend radially away from the fluid bearing so that the fluid held in the radial capillary seal is maintained adjacent an end of the gap, while the size of the reservoir defined by the diverging walls provides a large reservoir volume. The seal uses an additional capillary defined by a narrow annulus between the rotating shaft and a seal wall end. The narrow annulus establishes very high shock resistance preventing fluid loss past the outer axial wall of the radially capillary seal, and defines a small surface area from which evaporation can occur.

    摘要: A split and/or folded safety visor and method is provided for the vehicles where there is at least one driver and/or passenger is involved. The present invention provides, in an embodiment, a type of visor and method that ensures no use of hands to block the sun lights, headlight beams or similar while driving on a continuously changing direction as well as in straight path thus providing enormous safety of the driver and passengers. In an embodiment, the system and method can be employed in any automobile with a driver seat and/or in combination with passenger seats. A split or multi split visors can be used in the driver side as well as in the passenger side area. The split visors will allow the driver and or/passenger to fix the segments of the split visor in certain direction from the very beginning of the driving and sit comfortably even while changing the direction frequently. The split visor can be adjusted by opening the segments thus starting from 0 degree to 180 degree even though in most cases a 120 degree opening should be sufficient to block any unwanted light beam from any angles. The system described can be a integral part of the automobile during it's manufacture. In another embodiment, the split visors can be just a clip on system with the existing visors in vehicles and automobiles. Other features and advantages of this invention will be apparent to a person of skill in the art who studies the description of the invention.
