Abstract:
A pneumatic tire has a single carcass ply, at least one belt ply disposed radially outward of the carcass ply in a crown portion of the tire, and at least one insert located adjacent the carcass ply in a sidewall portion, the insert providing support for the tire load to enable the tire to operate in underinflated conditions. The carcass ply is comprised of at least one composite cord. The composite cord is formed of at least two first yarns twisted helically about at least one second yarn. The first yarns and the second yarn having different modulus of elasticity, the first yarns having a modulus greater than the modulus of the second yarn.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a rubber tire composed of carbon black reinforced rubber carcass with an outer, circumferential rubber tread construction of a rubber composition having a relatively high electrical resistivity. The tire tread construction has electrically conductive filament stapled through the tread construction and extending between the inner surface of the tread to its outer surface. An electrically conductive path is thereby created through the tread.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire (10) comprises a radial ply (12) carcass, a tread portion disposed radially outwardly of the crown area (14) of the carcass and a crown reinforcing structure interposed between the tread portion (19) and the carcass. The crown reinforcing structure includes a belt assembly (15) having at least a first (16), radially innermost and a second (17), radially outermost belt ply as well as a textile overlay structure (18) which is superimposed radially outwardly to said belt assembly (15). The textile overlay structure is reinforced with cords (40, 51) being made of materials including nylon and aramid. At initial elongation of the cords, the primary load bearing yarns are the nylon yarns; after appreciable elongation the primary load bearing yarns are the aramid yarns.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire having a component including at least one diene based rubber and discontinuous textile cord having at least two textile yarns, wherein the cord is partially untwisted.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire for heavy duty use comprises at least one radial carcass ply, a tread portion disposed radially outwardly of the crown region of the carcass plies and a crown reinforcing structure interposed between the tread portion and the crown region of the carcass plies. The crown reinforcing structure includes a belt assembly having at least a first, radially innermost and a second, radially outermost belt ply. The cords reinforcing the belt plies are preferably made of PET or PEN and have a linear density comprised between 2000 and 16000 Denier, a twist comprised between 2 and 7 TPI and a twist multiplier comprised between 3 and 5.
