    摘要: A simulator for generating simulated crankshaft angle signals during rotation of an internal combustion engine for use as a backup to a sensor sensing the ring gear teeth is described. A number representing the time in terms of the pulses from a clock for the engine crankshaft to rotate through an angle equal to one-half the angular spacing of the teeth on the ring gear is determined based on the current engine speed. This number is continuously counted by a counter whose output comprises simulated crankshaft angle signals.

    摘要: The velocity of a printhead scanning across a sheet of paper or other print medium is varied on the basis of whether masking patterns for selectively activating nozzle of the printhead include activations in consecutive pixel locations of the masking pattern. The pixel locations are “firing opportunities” as defined by the maximum firing frequency assigned to the nozzles when the printhead is scanned at a particular velocity. The printhead is moved at that velocity when a masking pattern includes activation in consecutive pixel locations. On the other hand, a higher scanning velocity is available when a constraint is enforced to prevent occasions of firings in consecutive pixel locations. In one embodiment, the constraint is not enforced, but masking patterns are analyzed on a pattern-by-pattern basis to detect those patterns which satisfy the constraint, so that the scanning velocity can be increased during the suitable masking patterns.

    摘要: In a vehicle with an active brake control system a control method comprising to the steps of: determining individual wheel speeds of the vehicle wheels responsive to sensor output signals (1016, 1018); determining a vehicle reference velocity responsive to the individual wheel speeds (1002-1012); measuring vehicle yaw rate (1128); determining a delta velocity for each wheel responsive to the individual wheel speed for the wheel and the vehicle reference velocity (326); and when the active brake control system is in the active state for at least one of the wheels, (a) setting a base delta velocity for the one wheel equal to the delta velocity for the one wheel immediately prior to the active brake control obtaining the active state for the one wheel (200); (b) determining a control term responsive to the measured vehicle yaw rate (806), wherein the control term represents a desired delta velocity for the one wheel; (c) setting a first target change in delta velocity responsive to the base delta velocity and the control term (204); and (d) controlling a first wheel brake for the one wheel so that a difference between the delta velocity for the one wheel and the desired delta velocity for the one wheel is minimized (208).
