摘要： Paper pulp is added to a stain solution. The stain solution and pulp fibers are mixed to form a slurry. Samples are removed from the slurry and are admixed with dilution water and a bleach. Then, the fibers are moved into a flow cell where they are subjected to a light source adapted to stimulate fluorescence from the stained pulp fiber. Before the fiber slurry enters the flow cell it is mixed with a dilution water of bleach to reduce background fluorescence. The fluorescent light is collimated and directed through a dichroic filter onto a fluorescence splitting dichroic filter.

In one aspect, an apparatus includes a first intake valve controlling air flow from a first intake port to a piston cylinder of the internal combustion engine, where the first intake valve has a first lift profile. A second intake valve controls air flow from a second intake port to the piston cylinder, where the second intake valve has a second lift profile different than the first lift profile. The combination of first and second lift profiles causes a variable swirl of air in the cylinder as a function of engine speed.

摘要： An apparatus and method for controlling exhaust gas recirculation flow. The apparatus and method uses a pressure-bleeding device, such as a wastegate valve, to change the pressure in an internal combustion engine in order to alter the flow rate of the exhaust gas through an exhaust gas recirculation conduit. In one form, the invention includes an inlet conduit connected to an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine and an exhaust conduit connected to exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine. The pressure-bleeding device is operatively coupled to the intake conduit. Altering the pressure in the intake conduit changes the pressure across the entire system. This change in pressure in the entire system results in a change in pressure across the exhaust gas recirculation conduit. Therefore, a flow is created through the exhaust gas recirculation conduit and can be controlled using the intake side pressure bleeding device.

摘要： A disc filter sector having an improved attachment system includes a sector base and a sector neck. The sector base includes stiffening members that extend through the sector base and include an attachment end, such as a threaded fastener or region, at the neck mating end of the sector base. The sector neck includes a hold down member proximate the base mating end of the sector neck. To attach the sector base to the sector neck, a mating attachment member, such as a bolt extends through the hold down member of the sector neck and engages with the attachment end of the stiffening members. In one embodiment, the stiffening members, attachment end, and mating attachment members are disposed outside of the flow regions in the sector base and sector neck.
