    Abstract: A quick disconnect nozzle comprising a nozzle body, a spray tip, and an annular sealing member interposed therebetween. The tip is adapted to be inserted axially into the body and then rotated. When the tip is rotated, camming lugs on the tip and body coact to draw the tip axially toward the body and compress the sealing member. Detents in the form of flexible curved ribs are carried by the tip and resiliently pop into curved pockets in the body to releasably hold the tip in its installed position. The sealing member is an O-ring which is carried by the tip and which is removable from the body as a unit with the tip. An inner seal is provided between mutually converging tapered walls of the nozzle tip and nozzle body adjacent the inner end portion of the nozzle tip.

    Abstract: A solenoid operated liquid spray device which includes a flow control module disposed within the solenoid coil of the device for controlling the direction of pressurized through the spray device. The flow control module includes separate inlet and outlet portions which can be easily disassembled for on line service without necessity for disconnecting fluid supply and electric power lines. The outlet portion is secured to the inlet portion by an adjustable retainer which is selectively positionable for adjusting the operating stroke of the valve plunger without the necessity for damaging relative rotational movement between the valve plunger needle and valve seat. The module portions further define a first flow passageway communicating between a liquid inlet and discharge nozzle and a second or return passageway communicating with a heated liquid supply for enabling liquid in the spray device to be maintained at an optimum heated temperature when a spraying operation is interrupted.

    Abstract: A quick disconnect nozzle assembly comprising a nozzle body, a spray tip, and an annular sealing member interposed therebetween. The nozzle body and spray tip have inclined seal engaging surfaces that compress the annular sealing member at three distinct points for exerting both axial and radial pressures thereon, and the body and spray tip have cams and separate radial detents for smoothly drawing the tip and body together into sealing engagement with the annular sealing member in repsonse to tip rotation and without the necessity for overcompressing the sealing member. A secondary, external sealing member is provided, which together with the internal sealing member, seal the cams and detents in an internal chamber area isolated from the liquid sprayed by the nozzle.

    Abstract: The use of non-thermal plasma to treat mucus membrane bleeding is described herein. A non-thermal plasma is generated using an apparatus having a first electrode that receives alternating electrical potentials from a power supply.     Abstract: A spraying system having a plurality of spray nozzle assemblies mounted on a common liquid supply header. The spray nozzle assemblies each include a nozzle body fixed to the header and a spray tip secured to the body as an incident to rotation of the spray tip relative to the body. Each spray tip has an elongated discharge orifice adapted for emitting a flat spray pattern and is formed with radial gripping wings in aligned relation to the elongated discharge orifice which enable the user to know the orientation of the discharge orifice, and hence the orientation of the flat discharging spray pattern, prior to start up of a spray operation. The nozzle bodies further each are formed with at least one pair of indicator nibs, which when disposed in longitudinal alignment with the liquid supply header, automatically establishes an orientation of the spray tip elongated discharge orifice at a predetermined relative small angle to the axis of the header so as to avoid impingement of the discharging flat spray patterns of adjacent nozzle assemblies. An alternative embodiment of a spray tip has a slightly modified locking lug design for effecting mounting of the spray tip in the common body with the discharge orifice aligned with the axis of the fluid supply header. Further alternative embodiments include a spray nozzle with a swivel mounted adapter and quick disconnect spray tip, or with an adapter having a screw-in orifice defining insert for the particular spray application.
