    摘要: A multiple rear drive axle system for a vehicle includes a first axle coupled with a drive shaft from a transmission of the vehicle. The first axle includes a first cantilevered input pinion mechanically coupled with the drive shaft and with a first driven gear. The system also includes an output shaft mechanically coupled with the drive shaft. A second axle has a second cantilevered input pinion mechanically coupled with the output shaft of the first axle system and with a second driven gear. The first and second input pinions are common, that is, are substantially identical pinions. The first and second driven gears are also common, that is, are substantially identical gears.

    摘要: A selectively reinforced structure may be produced by embedding at least two metal matrix composite tapes in a non-planar relationship to one another and in a predetermined region of a structure to selectively reinforce the structure. Further, a method for selectively reinforcing a structure or part includes positioning at least two metal matrix composite tapes in a substantially fixed non-planar relationship in a predetermined location within a mold and filling the mold with a material such as a metal, metal alloy, polymer, foam, glass, or ceramic such that the MMC tapes are embedded within the material. A reinforced structure is produced that has at least two metal matrix composite tapes selectively positioned within the structure.

    摘要: An inflatable bladder comprising at least one aperture and/or at least one baffle within the bladder for supporting a printed circuit board during component placement on a semiconductor substrate such as a printed circuit board is provided. The inflatable bladder is positioned to provide support for the substrate while apertures within the inflatable bladder communicate a suction force to the substrate to inhibit the substrate from bending, bowing, or flexing away from contact with the inflatable bladder during component placement. The inflatable bladder provides support for the substrate while attempting to prevent injury to components by pliably conforming to component irregularities on the back side of the substrate. The inflatable bladder can be selectively inflated or deflated for contacting the substrate and thereafter supporting the back side of the substrate during assembly operations. Alternatively, a lift table can be selectively raised or lowered for placing the inflatable bladder in contact with the back side of the substrate during assembly operations. The inflatable bladder can contain one or more baffles to define one or more compartments within the inflatable bladder. The inflatable bladder can be incorporated into a typical system for component assembly comprising a pair of rails, each having a slot therein, for receiving a substrate.

    摘要: A reinforcing net for use in a reinforcing layer is formed by spacing two parallel spreader yarns under tension and wrapping weft yarns around the two spreader yarns. The reinforcing net can either be affixed to an adhesive coated substrate or coated with adhesive at the intersections of the yarns to bond the net together. The net may be affixed to a plurality of substrates to form a laminate. The net, a ribbon of net with one substrate, and the laminate, may be used in making and reinforcing spirally wound products such as ducts, duct insulation and the like. A number of warp yarns can be included in the reinforcing net to increase its strength. The method of manufacturing the reinforcing net includes the steps of creating tension in the spreader yarns, providing a least one spool for supplying weft yarn, longitudinally advancing the spreader yarns, rotating the spool around the advancing spreader yarns and applying adhesive to the intersections of the yarns.
