    摘要: A handheld apparatus includes a weight sensor configured to weigh an object, a display configured to display the weight of the object, and a wireless transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit the object weight data from the weight sensor to one or more remote devices. The apparatus also includes a user interface that allows a user to control operation of the weight sensor, and to control transmission of object weight data to a remote device via the wireless transmitter. The user interface may also allow a user to enter and display descriptive information about an object that can be transmitted with the object weight data to a remote device. A second handheld apparatus is used to capture an image of the object and display object weight data within the image.

    摘要: Frontside-illuminated barrier infrared photodetector devices and methods of fabrication are disclosed. In one embodiment, a frontside-illuminated barrier infrared photodetector includes a transparent carrier substrate, and a plurality of pixels. Each pixel of the plurality of pixels includes an absorber layer, a barrier layer on the absorber layer, a collector layer on the barrier layer, and a backside electrical contact coupled to the absorber layer. Each pixel has a frontside and a backside. The absorber layer and the barrier layer are non-continuous across the plurality of pixels, and the barrier layer of each pixel is closer to a scene than the absorber layer of each pixel. A plurality of frontside common electrical contacts is coupled to the frontside of the plurality of pixels, wherein the frontside of the plurality of pixels and the plurality of frontside common electrical contacts are bonded to the transparent carrier substrate.

    摘要: A promotional apparatus for use in holding badges and other forms of identification includes a first housing, a second housing, an extendable and retractable cord that tethers the first and second housings together, and a badge holder secured to the second housing. The cord is normally retracted within one of the first and second housings such that the first and second housings are in adjacent relationship with each other when the cord is normally retracted. The badge holder and second housing can be retractably extended away from the first housing by a user. When extended away from the first housing, the second housing is free to rotate about an axis. The first housing includes an attachment device that releasably secures the first housing to a user's clothing and allows a user to extend the badge holder away from the first housing without dislodging the first housing from the user's clothing.

    摘要: Distinctive, promotional bag dispensing apparatus are provided that include a clamp and a clip configured to retain a plurality of plastic (or other) bags in stacked adjacent relationship. Each clamp includes a base member and a retaining member that is movably secured to the base member via hinges for pivotal movement about an axis thereof. A plurality of spaced-apart posts extend from the front surface adjacent the forward edge portion. Each clip has a U-shaped configuration with adjacent, spaced-apart first and second panels that are configured to receive and retain header portions of a plurality of bags in stacked adjacent relationship positioned therebetween. The first and second panels each comprise a plurality of spaced-apart apertures. The respective apertures in the first panel are aligned with the respective apertures in the second panel so as to removably receive the respective plurality of spaced-apart posts extending from the base member front surface therethrough such that the clip is removably secured to the clamp.

    摘要: An apparatus for precisely polishing an optical surface is described. The apparatus includes polishing pads which are small in size in comparison with the surface being polished. The pads are maintained in contact with and moved across the surface being polished by a pad driver in a manner producing a removal profile which is maximum at the center of pad movement and minimum at the extremes of pad movement. A position drive means is utilized to move the pad drive along a substantially spiraling path centered at the center of the surface being polished and spiraling outward to the parimeter where parallel spiral arcs are spaced a constant distance apart along any given path radius. By controlling the speed of movement along the contour path, the rate of material removal at a particular position on the optical surface is controlled.

Translucent fluid substantially fills the first and second chambers, and a first object is disposed within the first chamber and a second object is disposed within the second chamber. Movement of the first and second objects is viewable through the transparent first and second chambers. A portion of the barrel between the first and second chambers is substantially non-transparent and blocks from view adjacent respective portions of the first and second chambers. When the first object moves downwardly through the fluid in the first chamber, the first object disappears behind the barrel non-transparent portion substantially at the same time as the second object appears from behind the barrel non-transparent portion as the second object moves downwardly through the fluid in the second chamber.
