    摘要: The present invention is directed to an exhaust gas recirculation valve incorporating a DC motor and a dual poppet valve assembly. A motor is contained inside of the actuator housing. The motor has a rotatable motor shaft with a first gear connected to the end of the motor shaft. A second gear is engageable to the first gear and is configured to rotate in response to the movement of the first gear and the motor shaft. The second gear is also connected to a pin member disposed through the top portion of a shaft member that has two poppet valves disposed on to the shaft. The two ends of the pin member are slidably engageable to either an upwardly or downwardly sloped ramp portion. When the second gear rotates the shaft rotates and moves upward or downward to cause the valve members to move between an open and closed position.

    摘要: During normal operation of diesel engines the EGR valve poppet often becomes stuck to the valve seat in the closed position, due to excessive build up of exhaust gas debris, which renders the valve inoperable. This usually occurs after the engine is shut down and the valve is seated. Features, which locate the valve poppet in an unseated position when not in use, are implemented into the EGR valve design to prevent this sticking from occurring, thereby increasing product robustness and prolonging product life.

    摘要: A fail-safe throttle positioning device is disclosed for an engine induction system. A throttle body is provided having a fluid passage. A movable throttle valve is disposed within the fluid passage for at least idle speed control. An actuator mechanism is connected to the throttle valve for operably moving the throttle valve between a minimum fluid flow position and a maximum fluid flow position. A fail-safe mechanism urges the throttle valve toward an intermediate position between the minimum and maximum fluid flow positions to prevent inoperability of the engine during failure of the actuator mechanism.
