    摘要: An amplifying linkage for rotational actuation between a driving shaft and a driven shaft wherein the driving shaft rotates through a first rotary angle and the driven shaft rotates through a second and different rotary angle. The driven shaft is provided with a first lever arm having a slot formed in its distal end, and the driving shaft is provided with a second lever arm having a pin protruding in a direction parallel to the axis of the driven shaft. The shafts are offset such that the pin is receivable and slidable in the slot. Rotation of the driving shaft through a first angle causes the driven shaft to be rotated through a second angle. The first lever arm is shorter than the second lever arm, so that the second angle is always greater than the first (angular rotation is amplified). The invention is particularly useful in adapting a four-pole torque motor to the actuation of an Electric Throttle Control throttle valve for an internal combustion engine.

    摘要: There is disclosed an electrically-operated actuator in which a throttle valve is driven by a combination of the rotation of a motor and the operation of an accelerator by the operator, and besides the rotational force of the motor is not so transmitted to an accelerator pedal. This actuator is further provided with a fail-safe function. A parallelogrammic link is constituted by a link member fixedly mounted on a throttle shaft, a link member rotatably mounted on the throttle shaft and operatively connected to the accelerator pedal via a wire, a link fixedly mounted on a shaft rotatably mounted on the link member, and a link member connected to the link members by pins. The throttle shaft is coaxial with a shaft of the motor. A gear in mesh with a gear fixedly mounted on the motor shaft is fixedly mounted on the shaft, thereby forming a differential gear mechanism. Forces of springs act respectively on the throttle shaft and the link member in a direction to close the throttle valve. In order to prevent excessive opening and closing of the throttle due to the run-away of the motor, stoppers limit the angle of rotation of the motor.

    摘要: A method to control the position of a throttle valve in the presence of a fault. The method works independently of throttle position in an open-loop mode. The method assures that the throttle plate will assume the default position if: 1) the return spring is functional and the motor is functional; 2) the return spring has failed but the motor is functional; or 3) if the return spring is functional but the motor has failed. This method does not need to detect loss of return spring functionality and it does not need to detect loss of motor functionality. The detected fault that initiates the action need not be related to either the return spring or the motor.
