    Abstract: A door hinge for a laboratory instrument door, the door hinge comprising a hollow body with a first longitudinal axis and a curved side wall comprising a track. At least a part of the track is inclined relative to the first longitudinal axis. The door hinge further comprises a linear guiding element with a second longitudinal axis parallel to the first longitudinal axis. At least a part of the linear guiding element is arranged in the hollow. The linear guiding element and the hollow body are rotatable against each other. The door hinge further comprises a body comprising a protruding pin. The body is movably attached to the linear guiding element so that the body is movable in two opposite directions along the second longitudinal axis and the protruding pin is movable on the track.

    Abstract: A gripping device for handling sample containers is presented. The gripping device comprises a number of rigid fingers having non-gripping surfaces adapted to reduce adhesion between the non-gripping surfaces and labels. The number of rigid fingers collectively grip a sample container. Each finger comprises a gripping surface to contact the sample container while the sample container is gripped by the gripping device. The non-gripping surface of each finger is different from the gripping surface. The non-gripping surface of at least one of the fingers is at least partially corrugated. A sample container processing system comprising such a gripping device is also presented.

    Abstract: A connecting joint for adjustably connecting at least two components of a laboratory automation system is disclosed. The connecting joint comprises a horizontal bearing unit connectable to a first component of the at least two components of the laboratory automation system; a vertical bearing unit connectable to a second component of the at least two components of the laboratory automation system; and a slider bar connecting the horizontal bearing unit with the vertical bearing unit, wherein the slider bar is movably mounted along a vertical axis within the vertical bearing unit; and wherein the slider bar is adjustably mounted in the horizontal bearing unit, wherein the slider bar is adjustable in at least one dimension essentially perpendicular to the vertical axis by the horizontal bearing unit.

    Abstract: A drawer assembly for a laboratory instrument comprises a drawer loaded with a magazine. The drawer assembly comprises a frame comprising a portion adjacent the drawer that extends in a longitudinal direction. The drawer moves relative to the frame between a retracted position and an extended position. The frame comprises a path having a first portion and a second portion below the first portion. The drawer assembly comprises a rolling element moveable in the path and a lifting mechanism to lift the rolling element from a second portion to a first portion when the drawer is in the retracted position. The path is configured such that the rolling element is located in the first portion and contacts the drawer when the drawer is moved from the retracted position to the extended position and that the rolling element enters the second portion exclusively when the drawer is in the extended position.
