    摘要: Corrosive effects arising during oilfield treatment applications are inhibited and/or prevented by introducing into an oil or gas well at least one compound of formula I: wherein: R1 is independently H, —[—CnH2nO—]a—H, or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 24 carbon atoms; R2 is independently H or —[—CnH2nO—]b—H, R3 is independently —[—CH2]c—, or —Cd2d—[—OCnH2n—]e—, R4 is independently H or —[—CnH2nO—]f—H, R5 is independently H or —[—CnH2nO—]g—H, a is from about 1 to about 8; b+f+g is between 0 to about 30; c is from about 1 to 6; d is from about 1 to 6; e is from about 1 to about 8; and n is 2 or 3. Such corrosive effects are especially inhibited in the treatment of sour wells where H2S corrosion is a potential problem as well as conduits used during the treatment of subterranean formations.

    摘要: A system for controlling an absorption chiller includes feedback control loops determining adjustments to system cooling and heating capacities and a controller for simultaneously adjusting positions of an energy input valve, a hot water valve, and a chilled water valve. The controller adjusts valves based on desired adjustments to system cooling and heating capacities and performance maps characterizing relationships between cooling capacity and heating capacities and valve positions. A method for controlling an absorption chiller includes the step of obtaining a performance map characterizing heat energy input to cooling and heating loops as functions of valve positions. To obtain the map, the hot water valve is held in a substantially constant position while the chilled water valve is modulated. Similarly, the hot water valve is modulated while the chilled water valve is held in a substantially constant position.

    摘要: An oilless reciprocating compressor for use in a refrigerated controlled atmosphere has an uncooled, fully sealed crankcase. A bypass tubing connects the interior of the crankcase with the inlet of the cylinders, so that blow-by is returned from the crankcase to the inlet of the cylinder for recirculation. In consequence no blow-by gas escapes into the controlled atmosphere. The device includes standard pistons, and has an improved cylinder head seal utilizing o-rings.

    摘要: It is known that determination of bleed valve activation in a gas turbine engine can be difficult unless the engine is maintained at a steady idle state for comparison between that state and effects of activation of the bleed valve. Furthermore, specific test activation of bleed valves increases wear and tear on those valves. By sensing a flow pressure response signal and then through appropriate averaging and processing through a non-linear filter, it is possible to identify bleed valve activation by a target signal response exceeding a threshold indicative of such bleed valve activation.
