The mounting portion includes a mounting seat extending along the outer surface of the outer panel and being mounted on the outer panel and a connecting wall connecting the mounting seat and the surface portion. The connecting wall has a first slit extending along a first direction directing from the surface portion toward the mounting seat and a second slit intersecting the first slit at right angles.

摘要： A plasma display panel has a first substrate, plural pairs of display electrodes, a second substrate, and plural data electrodes. Each pair of the display electrodes is made up of a scanning electrode and a sustain electrode which are arranged parallel to each other on the first substrate. The second substrate is disposed opposite to the first substrate. A discharge space is formed between the first substrate and second substrate. The data electrodes are arranged in a direction perpendicular to the display electrodes on the second substrate. The data electrode is wider in peripheral portion of the second substrate than in a central portion of the second substrate.

摘要： A plasma display panel (PDP) featuring the display performance of high definition display and a high brightness, and yet, a lower power consumption is disclosed. A front panel of this PDP includes display electrodes formed on a front glass substrate, a dielectric layer covering the display electrodes, and a protective layer formed on the dielectric layer. A rear panel of this PDP includes address electrodes formed along a direction intersecting with the display electrodes, and barrier ribs. The front panel and the rear panel confront each other to form a discharge space which is filled with discharge gas and is portioned by the barrier ribs. The protective layer is formed of a metal oxide made of MgO and CaO. X-ray diffraction analysis on the surface of the protective layer finds that the metal oxide has a peak between a diffraction angle where a peak of MgO occurs and a diffraction angle where a peak of CaO occurs along an identical orientation of the MgO peak.

摘要： In the structure of the present invention, there can be provided a cathode ray tube in which deviation in the trajectory of the electron beams by the leakage magnetic field from the mask frame (1) is decreased by using a polygonal mask frame (1) in which the relative magnetic permeability of longer side members (31) out of two side members adjacent to each other at the joint portion of the mask frame (1) is the same as or larger than the relative magnetic permeability of the other side members (21). Thus, the significance of the present invention in industrial terms is large.

摘要： An internal magnetic shield includes a pair of opposing long side walls (1), a pair of opposing short side walls (2), and an opening (3) enclosed by these side walls in the center. The short side walls (2) are provided with notches (4) having a substantially home-plate shape. This configuration can reduce mislanding of an electron beam on the entire screen and easily balance the amount of mislanding due to geomagnetism in the tube-axis direction and in the horizontal direction perpendicular to the tube axis. As a result, a cathode ray tube capable of displaying images without displacement and unevenness of colors can be provided.

摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide a gas discharge panel, where the conversion efficiency of discharge energy into visible rays and the panel brightness are improved, with the color purity being improved as far as possible. To achieve this object, in a gas discharge panel, the pressure of discharge gas is set in a range of 800-4000 Torr, that is higher than a conventional gas pressure. Also, a rare gas mixture including helium, neon, xenon, and argon is used as discharge gas charged into discharge spaces, instead of conventional discharge gas. Here, it is preferable that the proportion of Xe is set to 5% by volume or less, that of Ar 0.5% by volume or less, and that of He under 55% by volume. With this rare gas mixture, the light-emission efficiency is improved, with the firing voltage being suppressed. Furthermore, display electrodes and address electrodes are arranged on the surface of either of a front cover plate and a back plate, with a dielectric layer existing between the display electrodes and the address electrodes. With this construction, addressing is performed with a relatively low voltage even if the gas pressure is high.

The capacitance between the horizontal deflection electrode confronting the vertical deflection electrodes and the capacitance between the horizontal deflection electrode confronting the vertical deflection electrode are made equal to each other. Also, the capacitance of the vertical deflection electrode confronting the horizontal deflection electrodes and the capacitance of the vertical deflection electrode confronting the horizontal deflection electrodes are made equal to each other, whereby the voltage effect induced by the other deflection electrode can be canceled and a good quality image can be obtained.

摘要： A gas discharge panel and method of providing a matrix of cells filled with a discharge gas and having plural pairs of display electrodes extending in a row direction of the matrix. Each pair of display electrodes comprise (a) two bus lines parallel to each other and extending in the row direction of the matrix, (b) one or more inner protrusions arranged within each cell on an inner side of one or both of the bus lines to protrude toward an inner side of an opposite bus line, and (c) one or more outer protrusions arranged to protrude from an outer side of one or both of the bus lines. A shortest gap between each pair of display electrodes is a gap between one of the bus lines and the inner protrusions on the opposite bus lines or a gap between the inner protrusions on both of the bus lines.

摘要： A cathode ray tube is provided, in which the flatness of a tension mask constituting a color-selection mechanism is maintained by a suitable stretching force, while with the tension mask, the influence of external magnetic fields, such as the terrestrial magnetism is suppressed, and the shifting of the electron beam is reduced. A tension mask made of a magnetostrictive material is used, the tension mask is stretched by a stretching force in a range maintaining the flatness of the tension mask, and the direction and strength of the stretching force are set such that vertical magnetic permeability of the tension mask increases, due to a magnetoelastic effect caused by the stretching force in the magnetostrictive material of the tension mask.
