Abstract: An operation method and an electronic device are provided. A phone call is established while a display of the electronic device is activated. A proximity sensor of the electronic device is turned on. A supply of power to the proximity sensor is controlled to emit light through a plurality of pixels in a portion of the display corresponding to a position of the proximity sensor and the light emitted by the proximity sensor and reflected by an object is received to identify a distance between the electronic device and the object, if the plurality of the pixels in the position corresponding to the proximity sensor are deactivated during the phone call. The supply of power to the proximity sensor is blocked if the plurality of pixels in the portion of the display corresponding to the proximity sensor are activated during the phone call.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing having a hole formed therein, an audio device inside the housing and communicating with an outside of the electronic device through the hole, a gas sensor inside the housing and communicating with the outside through the hole, a proximity sensor inside the housing, a wireless communication module inside the housing, and a processor inside the housing. The processor is configured to acquire data associated with air outside the electronic device by using the gas sensor, to recognize a user gesture of starting a proximity call by using the proximity sensor, and to calculate air quality of the outside air based on at least one of data acquired by the gas sensor before the proximity call starting gesture is recognized and data acquired by the gas sensor after a gesture of ending the proximity call is recognized. Other various embodiments are possible.

Abstract: An electronic device is disclosed and includes a housing; a display that is exposed through one surface of the housing; a light emitting unit that is disposed on at least a part of a rear surface of the display and includes at least one light source for outputting light of at least one wavelength band; a light receiving unit that includes at least one area for receiving light of the at least one wavelength band; a light blocking element for blocking light, that is output from the at least one light source, from entering a switch for turning on/off at least one pixel of the display; a processor electrically connected with the display, the light emitting unit, and the light receiving unit; and a memory electrically connected with the processor, in which the memory includes instructions that cause, when executed, the processor to output light through the at least one light source in a state where one or more pixels included in a specific area of the display, which includes an area covering the at least one light source, are turned off or displayed in a specific color.

Abstract: According to an embodiment disclosed in the specification, an electronic device comprises a battery disposed inside the electronic device; a printed circuit board (PCB) disposed inside the electronic device; at least one electronic component disposed on the PCB; and a first buck converter having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is routed to the battery; and a second buck converter having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is selectively electrically connected to the second end of the first buck converter, and the second end is routed to the at least one electronic component, and wherein the first buck converter and the second buck converter are configured to boost a voltage provided from the battery through an electrical path formed from the battery by the first end of the first buck converter, and the second end of the first buck converter, the first end of the second buck converter and the second end of the second buck converter to the at least one electronic component.
