    摘要: The present technology relates to a reception apparatus, a transmission apparatus, and a data processing method that enable a frequency scan to be performed at a higher speed. The reception apparatus can receive a broadcast wave, perform the frequency scan on the broadcast wave on the basis of the number of providers information indicating the number of broadcasting providers providing a service in the same frequency band, and generate channel selection information for selecting the service, thereby enabling the frequency scan at a higher speed. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a receiver capable of receiving digital broadcasting.

The receiving device acquires a digital broadcast signal that includes audio-video (AV) content and location information, the location information indicating a source from which application control information for controlling an operation of an application executed in conjunction with a progressing timing of the AV content is obtainable, acquires the application control information from the source indicated by the location information, the application control information including an application ID and a uniform resource locator (URL), obtains, from the URL included in the acquired application control information, control information during a polling period that is defined in accordance with an attribute specified in the acquired application control information, and controls the operation of the application based on the acquired application control information and the obtained control information.

    摘要: A receiving device includes a receiver and circuitry is provided. The receiver is configured to receive a digital broadcast signal transmitted using an Internet Protocol (IP) transmission method. The digital broadcast signal includes Layered Coding Transport (LCT) packets. The circuitry is configured to extract one of the LCT packets based on filtering information arranged in a header of the one of the LCT packets transmitted in a first layer that is higher than an IP layer of a protocol of the IP transmission method in the digital broadcast signal, and process first signaling data stored in the one of the LCT packets. The LCT packets are transmitted using a session of the first layer. The filtering information includes compression information, filter information, and version information. The filter information indicates which of a plurality of types of the first signaling data is contained in the first signaling data.

    The receiving device acquires trigger information for providing a function relating to subtitles, the trigger information including location information by which a resource on the Internet is identifiable; acquires subtitle information including a document relating to subtitles described in a predetermined computer language, on the basis of the location information included in the trigger information; and controls displaying of the subtitles on the basis of at least one of the trigger information and the subtitle information.
