Abstract: An example system for conditioning drilling fluid includes a tank to hold drilling fluid and outlet conduits located at least partly within the tank. The outlet conduits have a tree structure that includes a trunk and branches. Each of the branches has one or more nozzles for outputting drilling fluid within the tank. The system also includes one or more inlet conduits for receiving drilling fluid from the tank and one or more pumps that are controllable to suction the drilling fluid from the tank through the one or more inlet conduits and to force the drilling fluid into the tank through the outlet conduits.

Abstract: A drilling assembly includes a drill string configured to be disposed within a wellbore. The drilling assembly also includes a sub fluidically coupled to the drill string. The sub includes a mandrel fixed to the drill string and defines an external helically undulated surface and a bore configured to flow drilling fluid received from the drill string. The sub includes a sleeve rotationally coupled to and disposed outside the mandrel. The sleeve has an internal helically undulated surface corresponding with the external helically undulated surface of the mandrel to form, with the mandrel, a progressive cavity. The progressive cavity receives fluid from the bore of the mandrel to rotate the sleeve as the drilling fluid flows along the cavity. The sub also includes a valve configured to regulate a flow of the drilling fluid along the bore to direct fluid toward or away from the progressive cavity.

Abstract: A junk recovery tool may include a longitudinal axial mandrel, a plurality of junk recovery baskets, and at least one junk recovery sensor. The plurality of junk recovery baskets may be spaced apart and attached to the longitudinal axial mandrel. A first one of the junk recovery baskets may be disposed uphole of a second one of the junk recovery baskets. Each of the junk recovery baskets may include a plurality of apertures, allowing a drilling fluid to pass through the junk recovery basket while collecting junk from the drilling fluid. The at least one junk recovery sensor may be disposed in one of the plurality of junk recovery baskets. The at least one junk recovery sensor may be operable to measure an amount of collected junk in the one of the plurality of junk recovery baskets. The present disclosure also includes systems and methods incorporating the junk recovery tool.

Abstract: An example drill bit includes a body that is connectable to a drill string. The body has a base configured to face downhole within a wellbore and a perimeter configured to face a wall of the wellbore. The body includes a first nozzle and a second nozzle. The first nozzle corresponds to a first channel that exits the body through the perimeter and the second nozzle corresponds to a second channel that exits the body through the base. The example drill bit also includes a bit cutter on the base of the body and a valve within the body. The valve is configured to move within the body to block either the first channel or the second channel.

The plate is sized to collect at least unflared hydrocarbons in a liquid state that flow through the flare boom.

Abstract: An example system for isolating cement slurry from drilling fluids includes a tool configured for installation on a landing collar of a casing. The tool includes a base that conforms to an inner circumference of the casing and a tube that extends uphole from the base. The tube has a first borehole that extends downhole through the base. The tube is perforated to allow cement slurry to pass from the casing into the first borehole. A cementing plug is configured to seal to the casing uphole of the base. The cementing plug includes a second borehole to receive the tube. The cementing plug includes a covering that extends across at least part of the borehole and that is configured to break in response to contact with the tube.

Abstract: An example wellbore cementing system includes a casing to line at least part of a wellbore, and a pipe to introduce cement slurry containing capsules into the wellbore. The capsules include an accelerator. The accelerator reacts with the cement slurry to affect a thickening time of the cement slurry. The example system also includes a substructure having shearing pins. The substructure is arranged to receive the cement slurry from the pipe. The substructure is configured rotate to break at least some of the capsules in the cement slurry.
