摘要: Techniques for monitoring the health of a three-phase induction motor are provided. An expected threshold value is calculated as a function of an expected ratio of current unbalance to voltage unbalance for the three-phase motor. Embodiments determine whether a measured current unbalance exceeds the expected threshold value. Responsive to the measured current unbalance exceeding the expected threshold value, a remedial action may be taken, such as generating diagnostic information or activating one or more protection operations for the three-phase induction motor.

摘要: A measurement module uses harmonic compensation factors to minimize the effects of harmonic distortion in measurements of a source current by a current sensor of the module. The module samples at a first sampling rate, measurements of the source current to generate a first current measurement. The module samples at a second sampling rate higher than the first sampling rate, for an interval of time, measurements of the source current to generate a second current measurement. The module determines a harmonic compensation factor based, at least, on a difference between the first current measurement and the second current measurement. The module determines a reported current computed as a function of at least the first current measurement, the difference between the first current measurement and the second current measurement, and the harmonic compensation factor. The reported current represents a magnitude of the source current adjusted by the harmonic compensation factor.

摘要: Method and system for protecting induction motors from stalled start conditions provide a motor overload protection device that includes a stalled start detector capable of differentiating long start from stalled start conditions. This helps the motor overload protection device identify a stalled start condition right away and trip immediately rather than allowing the motor to continue drawing locked rotor current for the duration of the startup interval. Such a motor overload protection device may be used with any suitable multiphase induction motors, including two-phase motors, three phase motors, and the like. And because only the motor phase currents are used to detect the stalled start condition, the motor overload protection device disclosed herein does not require voltage phase shift information and/or motor speed measurements, thereby simplifying overall management of the motor.

摘要: A system and method for fast device replacement (FDR), where direct replacement of an electronic and/or control device is required with minimum downtime. The electronic or control device to be replaced includes a near field communication (NFC) reader/writer and is located at a specific physical location within the equipment. The system also includes a NFC tag placed at the same specific physical location as the electronic/control device to be replaced. The NFC tag file containing a data parameter set of the electronic/control device most recently associated with the specific physical location. The direct replacement electronic/control device also having a NFC reader/writer and an algorithm for obtaining the NFC tag data parameter set and determining whether to use the data parameter set from the most recent electronic/control device associated with the specific physical location or the local data set of the new direct replacement device.
