摘要: A base material processing apparatus includes a transport mechanism, a mark detector, and a calculating unit. The transport mechanism transports an elongated strip-shaped base material in a longitudinal direction thereof along a predetermined transport path. The mark detector acquires a detection result by detecting a mark continuously at a detecting position on the transport path. The mark is applied previously to an end of the base material in a width direction thereof. The calculating unit calculates a transport speed of the base material, the amount of positional deviation of the base material in a transport direction, and tension on the base material applied in the transport direction on the basis of the detection result and information about the mark applied previously to the base material.

摘要: A printing apparatus for printing on an elongate printing medium includes the following elements: a transport mechanism for transporting the printing medium; a printing unit including a plurality of print heads arranged at intervals in a transport direction; a detecting unit including at least three detectors arranged as spaced from one another for detecting positions in a width direction of the printing medium; a variation history acquirer for deriving, for each detection cycle, a function approximate curve based on positions of the same location in the transport direction of the printing medium detected by the respective detectors, and acquiring from each function approximate curve, and as a variation history, a deviation amount in the width direction in each of the printing positions; a predicted position calculator for calculating, from the variation history, a predicted position in the width direction for each of the printing position; and a printing controller for printing while correcting the position based on the predicted position.

The medium transport device includes a skew correcting mechanism disposed on a transport path for transporting a long medium, a first transport roller disposed on the transport path and transporting the medium, and a second transport roller transporting the medium to the first transport roller. The first transport roller is disposed upstream of the skew correcting mechanism. The second transport roller is disposed upstream of and next to the first transport roller. The second transport roller contacts one surface of the medium, and the first transport roller contacts the other surface of the medium.

The first detector intermittently detects the position of the edge of the base material in the width direction at a first detection position to acquire a first detection result (Ra). The second detector intermittently detects the position of the edge of the base material in the width direction at a second detection position located downstream of the first detection position to acquire a second detection result (Rb). The arithmetic unit calculates a transport error of the base material by comparison between the first detection result (Ra) and the second detection result (Rb). The controller changes detection timing of at least one of the first detector and the second detector.

摘要: In a printing apparatus, a colorimeter is provided for performing imaging calibration on an inline scanner for inspecting a printed image. During a printing operation, the inline scanner captures a test pattern image formed on paper and thereby obtains calibration imaging data, the colorimeter performs color measurement on the test pattern image and thereby obtains calibration colorimetric data, both data are used to update a correction factor LUT for imaging calibration, and the correction factor LUT is used to perform imaging calibration on the inline scanner.

摘要: A printing apparatus of this invention scans with a tester a testing chart printed by a printing controller to acquire testing image data. A total amount of displacement calculator calculates an amount of displacement of a recording position including a direction of misregister as a total amount of displacement, based on a large amount of displacement determined by a large amount of displacement determiner, a direction of displacement detected by a direction of displacement detector, a shift amount corresponding to an amount of displacement detecting chart determined by an amount of displacement detecting chart determiner, and a peak position of the amount of displacement detecting chart determined by the amount of displacement detecting chart determining unit. Thus, since a total amount of displacement of the misregister can be calculated only by printing the testing chart on web paper WP, an amount of displacement of the misregister in the transport direction can be obtained easily in a short time.

摘要: Disclosed is an inspecting chart including a reference pattern containing a first line segment group and a second line segment group, a first-side deviation pattern, and a second-side deviation pattern. The first line segment group is formed by a plurality of first line segments printed by a reference printing head at a first given interval. The second line segment is formed by second line segments printed by a printing head on a center between two adjacent first line segments or a center of each of the first line segments, the printing head being spaced away from the reference printing head in a the transportation direction of a print medium. The first-side deviation pattern and the second-side deviation pattern are printed with various deviations.
