Abstract: When a semiconductor device is provided with an inverter comprising a transistor having a first gate and a second gate, the semiconductor device does not require a circuit for generating a potential to be input to the second gate of the transistor and has a small number of wirings. Moreover, a semiconductor device having high reliability is provided. The semiconductor device includes a plurality of stages of circuits each provided with two inverter circuits in parallel. Two inverter circuits in a given stage output respective signals of opposite polarities, which is utilized for interchanging signals output from inverter circuits in the previous stage. Thus, an inverted signal is input to the second gate of the transistor included in each of two inverter circuits in the subsequent stage.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device that is not influenced by a noise in obtaining positional information can be provided. The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate provided with a pixel electrode and a common electrode with a first insulating film interposed therebetween. The pixel electrode and the common electrode partly overlap with each other. The liquid crystal display device further includes a second substrate provided with a pair of electrodes, a resin film covering the pair of electrodes, and a conductive film on the resin film. The pair of electrodes partly overlap with each other with a second insulating film interposed therebetween. The liquid crystal display device further includes a liquid crystal layer between the conductive film on the second substrate side and the pixel electrode and the common electrode on the first substrate side. A predetermined potential is supplied to the conductive film.

Abstract: An object is, in a structure where switch circuits in a signal line driver circuit is placed over the same substrate as a pixel portion, to reduce the size of transistors in the switch circuits and to reduce load in the circuits during charging and discharging of signal lines due to the supply of data. A display device is provided which includes a pixel portion receiving a video signal, and a signal line driver circuit including a switch circuit portion configured to control output of the video signal to the pixel portion. The switch circuit portion includes a transistor over an insulating substrate. The transistor has a field-effect mobility of at least 80 cm2/Vs or more. The transistor includes an oxide semiconductor layer.

Abstract: A display device having a novel structure that can improve reliability is provided. It lowers reliability to form a structure by using a photomask, such as a color filter on a rear side of a substrate. With this display device, a transistor and the color filter is provided over a first substrate, a touch sensor is provided on a first surface of a second substrate, and the structure is not provided on a second surface of the second substrate. Consequently, the display device with the touch sensor can perform high reliability.
